I guess that’s the price you must pay in order to capture such brilliant images.  At least in this case, none of the players took the opportunity to point and laugh.

Finland won just their second IIHF Men’s World Championship by defeating Sweden 6-1 in the Gold Medal game on Sunday at Orange Arena in Bratislava, Slovakia.  The win sent the entire country into a frenzy, as tens of thousands of fans waved flags and celebrated in the streets of Helsinki on Monday.  And with all the jubilation that spread throughout the country of 5 million following the victory, perhaps no one did more celebrating than Finnish assistant coach Pasi Nurminen.

(Perhaps someone should remind him and the rest of Finland that this isn’t the Olympics.)

Pasi had to be assisted down the airplane stairs after the team arrived at the Helsinki airport at 4:46 pm on Monday.  And upon reaching the bottom of the airstairs, his balance once again failed him as he fell face-first into the championship trophy.

Something tells me that someone had to remind Pasi the next morning that Finland had won the championship.  Here is a look at his nasty (yet hilarious) face-plant.

I like this strategy for preventing false starts more than the new “zero tolerance” false start system that the world’s track-and-field governing body has adopted.  After all, false starts happen, so when they do, why not embarrass the competitors a little rather than disqualify them altogether.  That way there are no delays, no cheaters, and no one gets kicked out of the race.  Everyone wins, especially the fans!

How many times have we heard a joke that begins with the classic line, “So, a guy walks into a bar…”?

Well here is another one for you:

“So, a guy walks into a bar.  Ouch!”

Drum roll please!  And for those of you who do not quite get it, the picture above should help clarify things.  Sure, this guy may be the punchline of our joke, but at least this wasn’t the most embarrassing effort we have ever witnessed during a hurdles competition.

Talk about adding insult to injury.  If the original nutshot was not painful enough for this poor kid, he had to withstand a devastating face plant into the asphalt as well.  And it was all caught on tape and converted into a GIF so that we can view it over and over again.

I can’t help but feel bad about laughing at someone else’s misfortune, but then I just watch it again and simply laugh away my feelings of guilt.  Problem solved.

I have one of these fitness balls at home and it is quite amazing to see the amount of exercises that can be done with them.  You can use them for push-ups, sit-ups, core workouts, and they can also help improve your balance.  However, there is one thing I would advise against when using a fitness ball; jumping on it.  And if you are going to use it in such a manner, at least make sure you have a video camera rolling so that we can post the results on here.

There may be nothing in this world that is more entertaining than a face plant.  Unless, of course, you are the one doing the face planting.  Enjoy!

I don’t personally play soccer, but I can tell you just from looking at the video that this incident occurred at the equivalent of a pick-up basketball game at the Y then any sort of professional match.  The players are all slow and have poor ball-handling skills.  They also look a bit older than you would expect from pros, seeing as how more than half of the people in the video are balding.

None of that takes away from the painfulness of the injury though.  While the player is trying to control the ball and possibly make some sort of move, he steps on the ball, rolls his ankle a bit and his head smashes into the ground.  The toughest part about it is not watching it happen, but hearing the loud smacking sound as his head crashes into the hardwood floor.  That man either needs a helmet and possibly full-body safety equipment, or more likely he should probably stop playing altogether.  Being a klutz in indoor soccer can be a very dangerous and painful thing.

Here we have a Clemson female trainer face planting as she made her way out through the tunnel prior to the Tigers’ game this past weekend against the South Carolina Gamecocks.  The hill they enter through is rather steep and has some sort of a ramp at the bottom, which most of the players tend to jump off of, but this young woman decided to try something different, sliding face first down it, unintentionally of course.

In all seriousness, she has likely been suffering through the embarrassment of having a stadium full of fans witness her incompetence for walking, but if it makes her feel any better, someone should tell her she isn’t the first person in the NCAA to suffer through a rough field entrance.

The Clemson Tigers prefer to call their pre-game entrance “the most exciting 25 seconds in college football,” and on Saturday they may have lived up to that thanks to this female trainer (fall at 33 second mark).
