The University of Auburn can probably expect to be hearing from the NCAA any day now after this image surfaced on the Facebook page of Tigers’ defensive back Demetruce Yung Fame McNeal.  And if McNeal couldn’t figure it out for himself, one of his friends took the time to remind him that as a college athlete, it probably isn’t the best idea to be posting images of yourself with a wad of cash in your mouth for everyone to see.

While taking questions following Saturday’s practice, one reporter asked Belichick about Ochocinco’s Twitter habits and whether the outspoken receiver’s declining use of the social media website was the result of a request from his head coach.  He responded with the following statement:

“That’s not something that I follow.  I don’t Twitter.  I don’t do MyFace.  I don’t use Yearbook.  I don’t do any of those things so I’d probably be the last to know.”

I’d hate to break it to you Bill, but you are not alone.  I don’t believe anyone in the world does MyFace or uses Yearbook.  Not even Ochocinco.  Although, if Eighty-Five had the option of using any of those non-existent programs, I’m sure he would.

If the shirt being worn by Chris Pronger in this image (via Charlie Sheen’s facebook page) is true, the Philadelphia Flyers can’t wait to get the 36-year-old defenseman back in their line-up.  After all, it appears as though he has been doing a lot of winning, despite sitting out the past two weeks following surgery on his right hand.  As for his team, they have struggled to win in his absence, recording victories in only four of the nine games Pronger has missed.

I’m sure Blackhawks fans would argue that if last year’s Stanley Cup Finals are any indication, that shirt should say “Whining,” rather than “Winning.”

Is this the most dedicated, hard-working basketball player ever?  Or just some guy with his priorities in the wrong order?

Perhaps some more info and better pictures of these two facebookers would help us answer those questions.  Is this kid a future NBAer?  Is he playing recreational ball at the local gym?  Does his team really need him?  I know one person who really needs him, but it would probably help if we had a better image of her.  Everything looks good from here, but hats and blurry profile pics can be quite deceiving at times.

A 17-year-old high school student by the name of Kim Duthie is claiming to have had sex with several AFL players, including members of the St. Kilda club, whom she claims impregnated her during one of their encounters (the child was stillborn).  As for the players involved in the scandal, they were not punished because the sex was deemed consensual and Duthie lied about her age.  Displeased with the way she was treated during the entire investigation, Duthie has now taken her fight to facebook, where she released two nude photos of the St. Kilda players and claims to have 19-21 more, including images involving the use of drugs.

Seems like some pretty wild stuff.  However, we tend to refrain from posting images of naked males on our website, leaving us with little reason to even talk about it, until now.  Thanks to this animated recreation of the entire incident, we have no choice but to now consider this story post-worthy.

It is said that if you give a moron enough rope he’ll eventually hang himself. The same could be said about athletes and social media. It seems now that every week there is a new headline in the sports world about some dumb-ass athlete posting something racist, homophobic or just plain retarded on Facebook or Twitter. Here are six that topped them all.

Clay Matthews (Almost)

Usually, if an athlete creates a Facebook group called “White Nation” and adds a photo of a black baby in handcuffs with the caption, “Arrest black babies before they become criminals,” their career is finished. That’s what makes Clay Matthews the exception on this list. Somehow, despite doing exactly what I described above while playing at USC, he went on to a successful professional career in the NFL.

Luckily for Clay, his claim that it was all an “inside joke” was backed up by his teammates, specifically, a black teammate who had taken to calling Matthews and the other white players “White Nation.” The Facebook page was an outgrowth of the running joke between the two. While there’s nothing wrong with screwing around with your friends, even about controversial topics like racism, posting such things in public and completely without context is just asking for trouble.

Larry Johnson

A little over a year ago Larry Johnson was a starting NFL running back for the Kanas City Chiefs. Today he is out of work after being released by the Redskins in September of this year. Why? Poor play was part of it, but a poor choice of medium to express gay slurs were a bigger part. The other part was calling out his then head coach Todd Haley on his Twitter account and then getting into a back and forth with a heckling fan (never a good idea) whom he called out for having a “fag pic” on his Twitter page.

A few years ago Larry Johnson was the consensus #1 draft pick in any fantasy football league, and if you told him that in a few years he would get kicked off the Chiefs for “tweeting” he would have called you a faggot and said he would “never do no gay shit like tweeting, whatever that gay sounding sh*t is.” Unfortunately for him, Twitter was invented and he signed up. The rest, like his career, is history.

Buck Burnette

Who in the hell is Buck Burnette? Well, in 2008 he was the backup center for the Texas Longhorns. He also had a Facebook page. Things were going along okay. Then Barack Obama got elected and that’s when things went bad for him. See, ol’ Buck figured it would be a good idea to rally the troops and post the following:

“all the hunters gather up, we have a #$%&er in the whitehouse”

Let’s see… a six letter word that ends in “er” that if you found it in the White House you would need to shoot it. What could he have meant? A robber? Maybe, but security there is so tight, how would a robber ever get in? Perhaps he meant a tiger but thought it was spelled “tigger” due to his small town upbringing. Wait, no, due to his small town upbringing it was probably very close to tigger, but with an “n” instead. Well, that’s what Texas head coach Mack Brown thought, too, and kicked him off the team. Now Buck has plenty of time on his hands to gather up hunters for anything he pleases.

Caitlin Davis

Are cheerleaders athletes? Well, for the purposes of this article, they are, because in 2008 the New England Patriots had an eighteen year-old cheerleader with a Facebook account, a Sharpie and a passed out dude covered in drawings of swastikas and cocks. In a series of photos that would make Lynndie England proud, Davis dove in for pose after pose beside the shirtless body of some passed out Boston College d-bag who couldn’t handle his liquor.

After finding out about this, the Patriots immediately kicked her off the squad. Davis was banished from the world of professional cheerleading and forced to resort to minor league gigs cheering flag football games in rural Mississippi for teams like the McComb Tri-Ks, Brookhaven Coon Hunters and the Jackson Hitlers. The good news is that she was very well received by the local community. The bad news is that she recently posted a picture of herself and an African American male on her Facebook page and now has a whole new set of problems on her hands.

Stephaine Rice

Three-time Olympic gold medal winning Australian swimmer Stephanie Rice had this to say after South Africa’s rugby team was beaten by Australia:

Suck on that fag#$ts!

In Australia, I think that’s considered the epitome of ladylike behavior, but in the Jaguar corporate offices, it is grounds to sever ties and pull a sponsorship deal. Rice would later remove the tweet and apologize for the comment, but Jaguar still demanded the return of a loaned vehicle. While there do not seem to be many other sponsorship deals on the horizon for Rice, an offer from either Tootsie Pop or Popsicle brands cannot be considered out of the realm of possibilities.

Stevie Johnson (Honorable Mention)

Ruining your career on earth is one thing, and so far, Stevie Johnson has not done that. However, ruining your career in the afterlife is a whole other matter. If God is anywhere near as vengeful as he was in the Old Testament, Stevie is really going to regret his tweet (listed above)

The guy upstairs who almost had Abraham cut his son’s head off just to test his faith. Does this sound like a guy you want to call out on Twitter? It was nice of Stevie to cap his tweet with “THX THO…” in an effort to offer some form of penance before his 140 characters were up. Still, when judgment day comes and Stevie Johnson’s name is called, don’t be surprised if he is sentenced to an eternity of dropping game winning touchdowns with God narrating from above, “No, that’s how I do you!!!”

So what better place to voice your anger than on Facebook.  Unfortunately, your profile’s publicity may not be limited to only your friends, and soon enough the whole world will know what a jackass you really are.  Someone should really tell this dickhead that it is only a game.

I’m not sure what is worse.  The ruthlessness of this comments, or the fact that three people actually liked it.  I guess such ignorance is quite common in Colts country.

So Aroldis decided to come to Boston to pay a visit to one of his many suitors and decided to have a night out on the town.  Based on the pictures, it sure looks like he did.  But the thing that was so odd about those pictures is that they weren’t sent in to a sports blog by an anonymous tipster.  They were posted on Athlete Premiere International’s Facebook page!  For the 21-year-old Aroldis, this seems like an strange image for his agents to want to convey.

I mean, its definitely not warm enough in Boston to be wearing the outfit that woman is wearing, right?  That is most certainly a strip club.  We all know that athletes (and some other people, but don’t tell my girlfriend) go to strip clubs from time to time.  Pacman Jones notoriously did it.  Those people aren’t usually looking to get publicity for it though, and I’m sure it is not the best plan when trying to market a 21-year-old kid.

Now he finds himself in the news again, this time because of his current girlfriend. Apparently, their romance came about through the magic of Facebook.

Her name is Sophie Houghton and she is the reigning Miss Intercontinental Liverpool 2009.  She also has aspirations to get into acting as she has just finished up a stint in drama school.

The announcement was made today as it was stated that the material on the DVD will be based on Bosh’s comedic characters he developed over the past two years in his homemade clips. Also included is a tour of Chris’ life in Dallas, which will allow fans to get to know the Raptors forward and his sense of humor better.

Bosh’s iPhone app is available now, and allows fans to keep track of Chris’ Twitter feed, watch his latest videos as soon as they’re posted, view his latest photos and keep track of updated game stats throughout the NBA season.  Regarding the news on his signing with Warner and the release of the app, Bosh had the following to say:

“This is exciting.  Teaming up with Warner to produce my very own CD and DVD, as well as being the first athlete with their very own iPhone and iPod touch application, are just two more ways for fans to get to know me off the court. Entertaining my fans through the use of technology allows me to continue to try and pioneer the digital space for athletes across the world!”

Chris Bosh will hope that many of those updates during the season are regarding wins for his Raptors.  With it being his last year on contract, rumors are bound to swirl regarding his next destination.  Although Raptor fans will have their fingers crossed, praying for the return of their big man, many believe he will find a new home in a larger market.  Some even believe that he may team up with the likes of LeBron James and or Dwyane Wade, possibly in New York.  If that becomes the case, it may not be long before his Twitter Feed reads “NBA Champion!!!”
