The Georgetown University men’s basketball team is in the middle of what school officials are calling a “goodwill” exhibition trip to China. Only problem is, no one bothered to tell any of the players about this “goodwill” stuff.

Last night the Georgetown Hoyas played the Bayi Rockets, and things got a little heated. GU guard Jason Clark took exception to a hard foul by Bayi forward Hu Ke, so he let him hear about it. Either Hu Ke speaks english, or Clark provided adequate hand gestures, because next thing you know the benches cleared and a pro wrestling match broke out. Fans were throwing water bottles at Georgetown players, and somebody hit senior center Henry Sims with a chair.

Of course, that hard foul by Hu Ke was just the straw that broke the camel’s back. Earlier in the game, while Hoyas coach John Thompson was shouting instructions to his players, Rockets forward Xu Zhonghao walked up to him and, in the words of the Washington Post reporter who was at the game, began “berating” him. Needless to say, Thompson was stunned.

I guess these things happen in basketball, but really? All these college kids and no one knows the meaning of “goodwill”?

Here is footage of what appears to be a disgruntled Blackhawks fan in a Jonathan Toews t-shirt throwing a barrage of punches to the face of a Canucks fan in a Roberto Luongo jersey.  It is a scene that leaves me wondering how the rest of the Canucks fans could just stand by and allow one of their own to take a sh*t-kicking from a fan of the opposition in their own building?

Stick up for yourselves Canucks fans!  This is the team that has knocked you out of the playoffs the previous two years.  You just won Game 1 and took control of the series.  Don’t allow them to gain any momentum via a post-game brawl.

This is the Stanley Cup playoffs.  Start acting like it!

So while they continue to do everything they can on the ice to ensure themselves an invitation to the post-season, the frustration continues to grow in the stands, and may have reached an all-time high on Thursday night during a loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning.  How else can you explain this Bruin on Bruin violence?

There was no shortage of interesting things taking place in the stands at GM Place last night during a game between the Ducks and the Vancouver Canucks.  Down near ice level, some were able to witness what appeared to be the third member of the Sedin twins, who was taking in the action on the ice.  And up above, in the nose bleed section, a few fans were providing some action of their own.  Unfortunately for the Ducks fan, his face was simply the recipient of all the action as the Canucks fan delivered it with several right hands.

When you factor in the home ice advantage, and the fact that the Canucks fan was a step above his opponent, it is clear that the Ducks fan never stood a chance.  Not even the guard rail could save him from the beating he endured.

But instead of going after the English midfielder, as they have in the past, they have decided to take their anger out on each other.  It was not quite like the colossal brawls we have witnessed in the stands at European soccer matches, but an MLS fan fight sure can provide some quality entertainment.

The footage taken on Saturday during a game between L.A. and the San Jose Earthquakes begins with several Galaxy fans jawing at one man who just appears to be standing there and taking it all in.  Seemingly smelling blood, one fan gets brave and lashes out before throwing an unexpected right hook which sends the guy’s glasses flying several rows down.

As the puncher walks away, one security guard goes after him, but is eventually trampled on by the recipient who is looking for some revenge.  And in true soccer fashion, the Galaxy fan who delivered the cheap shot ran like a little sissy.  He wanted to throw some fists, but had no intention of engaging in a real fight.  Yes, this is one guy that undoubtedly knows the sport of soccer all too well.

This weekend was not the first time Philadelphia Phillies and New York Mets fans have mixed it up, and I’d be willing to bet that it will not be the last.

This incident occurred prior to the top of the sixth inning in the game between the two bitter division rivals on Saturday night.  With the score 3-1 in favor of the Phillies, two fans from opposing teams looked to be exchanging heated words when another Phillies’ fan poured a beer on the Mets’ fan from behind (not the beer throwing thing again!).  That, as you may expect, caused the recipient of the poured beer to turn around, but that would end up being a bad decision.

As he spotted the beer thrower and readied himself to deliver a punch in retaliation, he was a split second behind causing him to received a couple before he could give one of his own.  The second punch to the face was enough to knock him over the seats and security would arive to break things up shortly after.

Tempers already seem to be high in both New York and Philly, but there is something about when these two teams meet that bring emotions to a boiling point.  I could only imagine how much worse it would be if the Mets were actually good.

During a ball game against the Texas Rangers last night at the Coliseum, one fan was apparently too much for police and security to handle.  After several attempts to escort the man away from his seat, police cleared the area and gave him a few electric shocks to soften him up (1:05 mark).  If that wasn’t enough to entertain the surrounding fans, there was more to come.

Just when it seemed as though they had things under control, one fan who was making his way up the stairs towards the scene was pushed back down (1:25 mark), and then as he argued with security, a foul ball came flying in and landed on top of the distracted crowd (1:42 mark).

There is no shortage of action in the Oakland crowd these days.  That is good news, especially when you consider the lack of excitement being produced on the field.

During Thursday’s game at AT&T Park between the San Francisco Giants and the Philadelphia Phillies (who are both no stranger to stadium brawls), things got a bit ugly in the stands.  With the Giants winning 7-2 in the eighth, two Phillies fans decide to make an exit, but not before causing a scene.  That resulted in some objects being thrown their way until one of them chose to fight back (if that’s what you want to call it).  A bitch slap, or two, later and security was needed to break up the fight.  What ever happened to a good old fashion Bruce Lee kick?  I guess that only happens in Yankee Stadium.

During Monday’s game between the Cleveland Indians and the Los Angeles Angels, two fans were engaged in a shouting match when members of security (who for some odd reason were wearing the strangest of hats) arrived to break it up.  That did not stop one of the guys from throwing his beer on his larger counterpart.  As you may have guessed, all hell broke loose after that.

To the guy’s credit, he must have been aware that he would not be allowed to stay and finish his beer anyways, and therefore decided to put it to use somehow, but he would pay for that choice with a couple of punches to the face and a ripped shirt.  I guess that’s what $10 dollars will get you these days.

Thankfully, American soccer fans seem to be somewhat more forgiving than their European counterparts.  Had they not been, the scene may have looked more like this Romanian riot.  Nevertheless, fans still let Beckham have it, to the point where he could no longer take it anymore and challenged a fan to come on to the pitch.

That was exactly what the Galaxy fan did, confronting the celebrity soccer star before they were both separated by security and ushered off the field.  Luckily for the fan, Beckham is not the type that shoots hecklers, else this could have turned out much worse.

I wonder if Victoria has been getting the same treatment, especially after leaving America with her 34DDs, only to return with a measly pair of 34B breasts.  Maybe that’s what all the disappointment was about.

In case you are interested in the game itself, it finished in a 2-2 tie with Beckham setting up both Galaxy goals.  Oh the irony!
