The most expensive car crash ever!

It took place in western Japan, as 14 luxury cars were making their way from Hiroshima to Kyushu along the China Road.  According to reports, one of the Ferraris spun out of control, hitting the median before crashing into the path of the other automobiles.  Ten drivers were taken to the hospital with injuries, but none were believed to be serious.

As for the cars, many of the models remain unknown, however, the total cost of damages and losses in the crash is expected to total over $1-million USD, as several of the vehicles will likely be scrapped entirely due to the severity of the damage.

After hitting a gravel patch following a turn, the Ferrari spun out into the water with Rana and his race navigator in it.  Both men were not injured in the incident.  As for the car, it was rescued from the Ocean and suffered only some waterlogging and a cracked headlight.

Being a car fanatic in the above parking lot probably feels a lot like being a kid in a candy story.  So many incredible options to choose from, but unfortunately you can’t have them all.

So when faced with such a decision, which one would I choose?  I think I’ll go with the red one.

And if numbers, g-forces, and physics aren’t exactly your thing, just check out the face of Alonso (right) off the start.  For a second there it almost seems as though he is going to lose the skin off his face.

I would tell you to enjoy the following pictures, but let’s be serious for a second here.  Do you really need to be told to enjoy ogling these sexy young ladies and their hot cars?  I didn’t think so.

So…which car do you think this dude was trading-in? Or did the security guard fall asleep before this guy pulled his awesome ride into the lot? I think he’s trying to sweet talk that chick in the picture. “Yo baby, yeah those other cars are sweet but I get 34 MPG.”

This is almost as embarrassing as screwing up the name of the newest Home Run Derby champion. Or a German celebration fail. Good luck, guy.

Does it get any more ghetto than this? I wonder what this Ferrari is called.  A Testa-grossa?

He even spelled Ferrari wrong to avoid having to pay royalties, although I do like how he felt the need to spray paint the name along the side, just to make sure people knew what he was driving.  So what kinds of specs does this Furari Testa-grossa come with?  Well it’s 20-horsepower engine can hit 0-60 in about half-an-hour, and if you want those rims, you are going to have to reach a little deeper into your pockets and opt for the upgrade package.

I already can’t wait until the 2011 model comes out!  And I know just the place to park it.

Ferrari have endured a disappointing campaign in 2009, and with only two races remaining in the season, it all seemed to go up in flames at the Sao Paulo track, literally.

With Kimi Raikkonen‘s Ferrari and Heikki Kovalainen‘s McLaren Mercedes both making pit stops, Raikkonen pulled out but found himself behind his fellow Finish counterpart.  To make matters worse, when Kovalainen drove out of his lane, he took the fuel hose with him, spraying gas onto the trailing Ferrari and eventually lighting it on fire with his exhaust.

Raikkonen’s car went up in flames for a brief moment before going out.  Members of the Brawn team would help detach the hose from Kovelainen’s car and both driver would finish the race.  Unfortunately, neither would light up the track in a similar fashion.

However, with the type of luck Ferrari team members have endured thus far this year, coming out of this one unscathed should be though of as a victory.

Total Pro Sports – Is it me or can only a Ferrari get away with such a parking job.  I don’t want to be quick to judge on this one.  After all, the drivers of these three red beauties could have hobbled out of their car, grabbed their wheelchairs from the trunk and rolled themselves into the country club.  Then again, the trunks on the Ferrari F40, F50 and Enzo likely could not even fit a wheelchair.

With that all being said, I am going to go on and assume that being an asshole is the only thing handicapping the owners of these three Ferraris.  Sadly, not even a ticket would do much good as their change compartments are likely filled with enough small bills to pay off several parking infractions.

So it seems that we should just come to terms with the fact that Ferrari drivers hold a certain sense of immunity when it comes to parking laws.  Perhaps that is part of the added cost of purchasing such an expensive car.

At least it isn’t the worst parking job we have ever witnessed.

Total Pro Sports – Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt likes to live life in the fast lane, both on and off the track.  He has completed his sweep of the 100-meter and 200-meter events at the World Track and Field Championships in Berlin, setting world records in both events, and now he is ready to take his fast paced life on the road.

What better way to do so than in your brand new 2009 Ferrari California.

Bolt decided to treat himself to one of the Italian car manufacturer’s newest creations, a reasonable gift for his recent accomplishments.  I guess when you have a need for speed like he does, such cravings can not go unsatisfied.

Let’s just hope his Ferrari doesn’t end up like Cristiano Ronaldo‘s, or the one driven by Felipe Massa.
