Can you ask for a better game then the one your going to get this Saturday, when the Texas Longhorns visit the Oklahoma Sooners in Norman, Oklahoma.  Both teams enter the game undefeated and are the top two contenders for the National Championship.  Both teams feature dynamic quarterbacks that lead their respectable offences to big numbers each week.  Sam Bradford and the Sooners are fourth in the country in scoring offense at 49.6 PPG, while Texas and Colt McCoy are sixth at 47.2 PPG.  The difference in this game will be which ever team can create more big plays on offense, it’s too close to call.  The Red River rivalry is as influential as it has been in years for both teams.

A week after Penn State earned an A+ for their toughest road challenge of the season they quickly have their next big test in front of them.  This week the Nittany Lions travel to Madison to take on the Wisconsin Badgers.  Penn State has looked unstoppable on offense this season, they are possibly the most balanced team on offense in the nation.  These teams are going in opposite directions the Nittany Lions have opened the season with 6 straight wins, while the Badgers started 3-0, but have recently lost 2 straight.  I look for Penn State to continue rolling, but know it will not be easy to win at Camp Randall Stadium.

What a shootout were going to have in Missouri this weekend, the quick strike offense of the Tigers will be challenged for the first time this year as the Oklahoma State Cowboys come to town.  The Tigers have the nations third leading offense, averaging 568.8 YPG and second in scoring at 53.4 PPG.  The Cowboys have been equally impressive raking up 52.6 PPG and 520.2 YPG which are second and sixth in the stats respectively.  The team that shows up on defence and holds the opposition out of the end zone will have a better chance of winning this contest.

I get excited every time these two SEC rivals hook up, this game is going to be decided by 7 points or less and that’s a guarantee.  The LSU Tigers take on the Florida Gators this week in the swamp, a game that is always intense when these two teams play each other.  These programs represent the previous two Nation Championships and I can guarantee that is on their minds this year.

Pick: Texas Longhorns +6: The reason I am comfortable taking the Longhorns is because this one will be played on a neutral site.  Both teams are undefeated and vying for a chance to play in the National Championship Game, so this one will have the makings of great one.  I like both teams and think that their offense is spectacular to watch so I would take the points with Texas.

Pick: Notre Dame Fighting Irish +8.5: The Irish have been playing very well as of late winning 2 straight and living up to the expectations that are on the football program.  Charlie Weis finally has the team playing the way they were when Brady Quinn was at the helm, all praise goes to Jimmy Clausen as he has led the Irish to big wins against Michigan, Purdue and Stanford.  I like the points and the Fighting Irish this week.

3. LSU Tigers @ Florida Gators (-6, O/U 45.5)

Pick: LSU Tigers +6: This game will be played under the lights and on prime time, it is going to be heated and nasty.  These teams don’t particularly like each other and the defences will be fired up to show their animosity. This game will be close going to the fourth quarter and may be decided on the final play of the game.  In that case we like the Tigers and the points.
