Burke passed away on January 19th of this year following a tragic accident while training for the X-Games on the Park City Mountain Resort Eagle superpipe in Park City, Utah. She will always be considered a pioneer for superpipe skiing (she helped make it an Olympic event, beginning in 2014) and was beloved by all of her fellow competitors.

Many of those competitors, along with family, friends and fans of Sarah, took to the slopes last night to honor the passing of one of the most influential women to ever take part in the X-Games. You can watch the ceremony in the video below.

Despite entering almost every Rugby World Cup tournament as the favorite, the All Blacks have failed on several occasions to join South Africa and Australia as the only countries to win two World titles, but they finally got that monkey off their back with a thrilling 8-7 victory that left their entire nation on the edges of their seats throughout the full 80 minutes of play.

And while it wasn’t as entertaining a the game itself, the reaction of the fans from both teams at the Auckland Fanzone before, during and after the game was a sight to behold. Luckily, it was captured on camera by Jared Brandon Productions.

Here it is.

Landreau’s careless challenge earned him a yellow card and gave Bordeaux a penalty kick, but Khalfallah’s sacrifice would be all for naught, as his team would miss the kick and settle for a 1-1 draw.

Here is a look at the flying knee to the face.

As it turns out, Sinclair did suit up for Canada today, wearing a protective face-mask. Unfortunately, her presence wasn’t enough to get Canada the win, and her face-mask wasn’t enough to protect her from a point-blank clearance from one of the French players. Sinclair remained on the ground for several minutes, but was somehow able to continue playing, despite the fact that her team was already trailing by a score of 3-0.

Last time I stated that Sinclair’s ability to play through a broken nose makes her tougher than 98% of the male soccer players around the world, but after seeing this, it may be fair to say that she is actually tougher than 100% of them.

The race is said to be a tune-up for cyclists prior to the Tour de France, which is scheduled to begin on July 2nd. However, for at least a few of the cyclists it may have marked the end of their Tour de France hopes after this frightening run-in with some street-crossing cows.

On second thought, I don’t believe we can even call this a free kick attempt. We can, however, still call it a free kick Fail!

Norway would finish on top of the medal standings with a total of 17 (4 gold, 7 silver, 6 bronze). They were followed by Finland’s 11 (4 gold, 4 silver, 3 bronze). No other country accumulated more than four medals. The first gold medal to ever be awarded at a Winter Games would go to Charles Jewtraw of the United States, who finished first in the men’s 500-meter speed skating event.

Much like the Summer Olympics, the Winter Olympics would continue to take place every four years, however, it would be canceled in 1940 and 1944 due to World War II, and in 1994 it took place after only 2 years in order to prevent it from occurring on the same year as the Summer Olympics.

Here are some highlights from the 1924 Winter Games.

I hated Nicolas Anelka before, when he thought he was too good to be playing for France’s 2010 World Cup squad. And after this goal celebration, I think I hate him even more now.

For those who don’t get it, allow me to explain. After a heated exchange between himself and head coach Raymond Domenech during halftime of France’s 2-0 loss to Mexico at the World Cup, Nicolas Anelka was expelled from the team and sent home by the French Football Federation. Unhappy with his treatment in South Africa, Anelka refused to attend a hearing on the incident with the FFF. As a result, he received an additional 18-match ban from international play, essentially ending his international career.

Apparently, Anelka feels chastised by the ruling and he wanted everyone to know that, so after scoring a goal with Chelsea during their UEFA Champions League match on Wednesday, he flashed the universal sign for “handcuffs”. I wonder what the universal sign for “no one cares” is?
