After sitting out for a few weeks in January with an injury, Curry has struggled to regain his consistent scoring touch, as he had surpassed the 20-point mark only twice in his last eight games. But if last night was any indication, he may have finally found his stroke again as he connected on 13 of his 17 field-goal attempts and six of his nine three-point attempts during a 36 point, 7 rebound, 7 assist performance. Those numbers helped the Warriors snap their losing streak in Denver, as they escaped with the 109-101 victory and Curry escapes with “The Stat Line of the Night” for Thursday, February 9, 2012.

When the final buzzer blew at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, California last night, the scoreboard read “Oklahoma City Thunder 119, Golden State Warriors 116.” Judging by the image above, that means the Warriors managed to score 23 points during the final 12 minutes of the game, while the Thunder somehow managed to lose a whopping 72 points. Luck for them, they were able to hold onto that 98-point lead that they were spotted by the generous people working the scoreboard during the Warriors’ home games.

You can watch the scoreboard error unfold in the video below.

Carlesimo. The incident took place at a Warriors practice, with Spreewell dragging Carlesimo to the floor and choking him before his teammates intervened.

Coach Carlesimo yelled at Spreewell, telling him to make crisper passes, to which Latrell responded by saying he was not in the mood for criticism. When Carlesimo approached, Spreewell threatened to kill him and the choking ensued. After being dragged away by his teammates, Spreewell returned a short while later and proceeded to punch his coach before being dragged away again.

The following day the Warriors organization decided to void Spreewell’s contract, which had three years and close to $24 million remaining. The NBA also suspended him for one year. After taking the case to arbitration, the contract voiding was overturned and the suspension was shortened to the remainder of the season (68 games).

Here is Spreewell at the 1995 NBA All Star Game.

Durant had the hot hand all night, draining 13 field-goals and three of his five three-point attempts en route to a 39-point performance. He also added six rebounds, five assists, one block and a steal to his stat line, but most impressive of all was his scoring output in overtime, which saw him record eight of the the Thunder’s nine points in the frame as they went on to beat the Warriors by a score of 115-114.

With the win, the Thunder move five games clear of the Denver Nuggets for fourth place in the Western Conference. That will be key come playoff time as it will give them home-court advantage in a possible series against their division rivals. That could be the difference between a first round exit or the first playoff series victory for the franchise in Oklahoma City. Another key factor to the Thunder’s playoff success will be the play of Kevin Durant. They will need him to put together more games like this come April, as he earns our “Stat Line of the Night” for Tuesday, March 29, 2011.

By the time the first half buzzer sounded, Love had already reached the 20/10 mark. He was at the 30/20 mark by the end of the third quarter, and he eventually finished with an incredible 37 points and 23 rebounds, with seven of those rebounds would come at the offensive end. Love would also go to the charity stripe a total of 23 times, making good on 18 of those attempts, while hitting 3 of 4 from three-point range.

A fifth-overall pick in the 2008 NBA entry draft, Love had a rather quite first two seasons of his career, but he has made plenty of noise in his third season, averaging 21 points and 15.5 rebounds. His 37 points and 23 rebounds last night was his fourth 30/20 performance of the season, leaving him only one behind Shaq, who recorded five 30/20 games during the 1999-2000 season. With 22 games remaining this season, Love may still have time to catch “The Big Diesel”, but for now he earns our “Stat Line of the Night” for Sunday, February 27, 2011.

Rather than put an end to trade-season in the NBA, it appears as though the Carmelo Anthony deal has only helped get things started. One day after the Denver Nuggets traded Carmelo Anthony to the Knicks, New York’s other team, the New Jersey Nets, decided to make a blockbuster deal of their own.

Yahoo! Sports is reporting that the Utah Jazz have traded All-Star guard Deron Williams to the Nets in exchange for Devin Harris, Derrick Favors and two first round draft picks. It is believed that Golden State would also be involved in the deal, sending Dan Gadzuric and Brandan Wright to the Nets in exchange for Troy Murphy.

The Nets attempted to acquire Melo during the All-Star break, but were unsuccessful as they watched their New York rivals swoop in and get a deal done with the Nuggets. That forced New Jersey to move onto the next one, and that is exactly what they did. Although, there were several questions surrounding who that next one would be. Some believed it could have been Chris Paul or Dwight Howard, but it now appears as though Deron Williams was the one they coveted, and after several failed attempts at acquiring other NBA superstars, Nets owner Mikhail Prokorov finally got his man.

So, with time still remaining before Thursday’s trade deadline, could there be more blockbuster moves to come? Stay tuned to find out.

One night after scoring 44 points in a losing cause, Ellis put up an impressive 36 points, but most importantly he made sure that his stellar performance wasn’t all for not as his nine points during the overtime period led the Warriors to a 117-109 victory. Ellis also added seven assists, four rebounds and four steals.

The win was only the second for the Warriors in the month of December and while it does not appear as though they will be making any sort of a playoff push this season, their future does look bright with the likes of Ellis and Curry leading their youth movement. But for now Ellis will have to settle with “The Stat Line of the Night” for Tuesday, December 21, 2010.

Like All-Star game form. In their game last night, the Golden State Warriors and the Houston Rockets played defense like it was the NBA All-Star game, and the result was a high-scoring affair.

The Warriors’ Monta Ellis was the highest scorer of all, and he led his team to a win in their first game of the year. Ellis went off for 46 points on the Rockets, and the Warriors needed every one of those points in their 132-128 victory.

Ellis drained 18 of his 24 shot attempts, including 1 of 2 from behind the three-point line. He also nailed 9 of his 12 free throw tries. The 46 points tied a career-high for Ellis, and that total is the third-highest Opening Night point total in Warriors franchise history, trailing only one Mr. Wilt Chamberlain, who poured in 56 against Detroit in 1962 and 48 against the Lakers in 1961.

Monta Ellis is already on fire, and he has The Stat Line of the Night for 10/27/10.

He’s all grown up now. He’s still a rookie in the NBA, but he’s playing like a seasoned pro and putting up some ridiculous numbers. I’m talking about Stephen Curry.

Curry already has a triple-double this year and last night he was just a few plays away from a quadruple-double. Last night against the Timberwolves, Curry 27 points on 12-22 from the floor and nailed 3 of 5 from behind the three-point arc. That’s impressive on its own, but Curry was filling out that stat sheet in a big way. He also added 14 assists, 8 rebounds and an amazing 7 steals. His efforts led the Warriors to a 116-107 win over the T’Wolves in Minnesota.

It was an especially meaningful win for the Warriors because coach Don Nelson won his 1,333rd game and passed Lenny Wilkins to become the NBA’s all-time leader for coaching victories. Curry is on his way to breaking some records of his own, and he has The Stat Line of the Night for 4/7/10.

Stephen Curry is creeping up on you in the race for the NBA Rookie of the Year award.

Golden State’s big-time scorer Monta Ellis was out with a sprained knee for the game against the Clippers. No problem. There to save the day was former March Madness star and rookie Stephen Curry. Curry didn’t just fill Ellis’ role, he dominated the game and led the Warriors to a 132-102 blow out win.

Curry filled it up with 7 threes on 11 attempts, and shot 11-22 overall totaling 36 points. He also dropped 13 dimes and snagged a last-second rebound to give him 10 on the game and his first career triple-double. Curry also added 3 thefts to his amazing line.

At the end of the 3rd quarter, the Warriors already had 110 points and led by 36 after pouring in 46 points in the 3rd. They had 3 players score 25 or more points. But none had a better game than Curry and his triple-double. He gets The Stat Line of the Night.
