Dancing Rangers Grounds Crew Member Has Some Killer Moves (Video)

The Rangers were in need of a victory during Game 4 of the World Series last night, and they got exactly what they were looking for, as they beat the St. Louis Cardinals by a score of 4-0 and evened their series at 2-2. That was enough to get everyone at the Rangers Ballpark in Arlington up on their feet and dancing, including one of the grounds crew members, who provided us with this impressive dance routine between innings.

The grounds crew at Kansas City’s Kauffman Stadium were prepared for incoming thunder storms during yesterday’s game between the Royals and the White Sox. What they weren’t prepared for, however, was the accompanying gusts of wind, and that nearly resulted in a rather unfortunate incident for one grounds crew member, who went up and over the giant roll of tarp.

Thankfully, he was somehow able to regain his footing and avoid becoming the second rain delay casualty from the Royals grounds crew this season.

This isn’t quite as entertaining as some of the college baseball rain delay shows we have been treated to in recent weeks, but watching a member of the Trenton Thunder grounds crew bust-a-move to Beyonce’s “Single Ladies” between innings during a recent game is something you will want to see, nonetheless.

Royals Grounds Crew Member Gets Flattened By Tarp During Rain Delay (Video)

As fun as it may look getting to roll out the tarp on a Major League Baseball field during a rain delay, it is no easy task. Things can get dangerous on that slick field, and before you know it, you could be flat on your face getting steamrolled by a giant metal cylinder.

This member of the Kansas City Royals’ grounds crew was left to face that harsh reality last night during a rain delay in the eighth inning of a game between the Royals and the Mariners.

You have to love the ‘take no prisoners’ approach exhibited by the Royals’ ground crew here. One of their own has fallen down in the path of the tarp? No worries! Just pull the damn thing over his beaten up corpse and keep on going! I guess lives become expendable when it comes to maintaining a dry baseball field.

Groundskeeper Falls, Gets Caught Under Tarp During Rain Delay

Total Pro Sports – It is a grounds keeper’s moment of truth. They sit patiently in the stadium, ready for action at any time, and when the rain starts to come down, its go time!

It was go time indeed at the Great American Ballpark on Tuesday night for the game between the Atlanta Braves and the Cincinnati Reds. A rain delay midway through the game brought the grounds crew out, and they came out hard. Unfortunately for one member, it was a bit too hard.

Robin Habisch was running along with the other members as they covered the field, but at one point she slipped up on the wet tarp and hit the ground. It is the responsibility of grounds keepers to continue covering the field, even when there is a fallen soldier, and this case was no different. Robin initially felt the urge to hold on for dear life, but after a few seconds of dragging her along, another member of the crew told her to let go and she disappeared under the giant cover.

Protocol for these individuals is that when they fall, they are too just let go and accept the fact that they will be covered by the tarp. Robin stuck to those rules, and would eventually make her way out from under the tarp to a thunderous ovation from the crowd.

Robin was kind enough to take part in an interview following the embarrassing moment, and even received some heckling from the crew while live on television. She took insults a lot better than Alex Rios.

She stated that although not injured, she did get a bit banged up. Maybe when Cristiano Ronaldo is done with his massage the creepy man can give her a rub down.

Don’t sweat it Robin. There are good days and bad days. Grounds crews and ball girls can’t always be perfect, unless you are Kelli Curci.
