At the conclusion of the Monday Night Football game between the Tennessee Titans and the Houston Texans, cameras caught Titans quarterback Vince Young exchanging a high-five with referee Jerome Boger. This image has since made its way around the country as NFL fans continue to question why a ref had engaged in a celebratory gesture with one of the players. That is the very question NFL representatives have been asked.

Oddly enough, their answer has been that “it never happened.”

It never happened? So are they trying to tell us all that we are just seeing things? That through their eyes Young and Boger did not have their hands raised and make contact with each other? Is this picture just a figment of our imaginations, or a mere illusion? Perhaps we should all book appointments with the optometrist. How could this possibly be?

Here is their explanation:

“It was not Jerome Boger’s intent to exchange a high-five with the player,” the spokesman said. “It began with the referee making the proper administrative signal and resulted in the appearance of an inappropriate action.

“As Vince Young took a knee on the game’s final play, Jerome Boger jogged in with his right arm in the air to signify the play was over. That is the proper administrative signal for the referee.

“As Young turned around, he saw Boger approaching the line of scrimmage with his arm raised. “As Boger moved toward the line of scrimmage, he started to bring his arm down. However, before he lowered his arm, Young, moving towards the referee, raised his own arm and the two exchanged what appeared to be a quick high-five,” the spokesman added. [The Houston Chronicle]

Seems like a fair explanation, but should this really be made into such a big deal? It was a simple high-five at the end of a game. Don’t players go over to shake the official’s hand anyways?

As we have seen before, sometimes it is tough to find a high-five when you go looking for it, and in this case, sometimes it just comes to you.

Here is a look at it one more time.

At least that is what it looked like prior to Friday night’s exhibition game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Denver Nuggets. After all, have you ever seen someone scratch their face with a fist? Nice try Phil, but we caught you!

With the Lakers head coach sitting in his usual court side seat, and Kobe Bryant performing his pre-tipoff fist-bump routine Phil Jackson wanted to get in on the fun, but Kobe was having none of it. Instead, the Lakers superstar guard left his coach hanging, forcing him to do some quick improve work. Unfortunately for Phil, the TNT cameras were on him at the time.

We should mention that there is no tension between Kobe and his coach. Instead, Jackson was simply not within visible range of Bryant.

Props to Phil on the nifty cover-up. Wisconsin quarterback Scott Tolzien has much to learn from the Zen Master.

Hat Tip – [FanHouse]

Overjoyed after the Eagles scored another touchdown and that they kept running up the scoreboard of the Cowboys. Cameras scanned over to Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie’s suite to broadcast his celebration of High-Five’s with everyone in his luxury suite.

As he turned back to High-Five his wife he accidentally hit her in the face, call it a Pimp Slap (Maybe she owed him money?) or just overjoyed that he will be making more money for his already deep pockets. We will never know!

An up and down season for the Philadelphia Eagles, nobody thought they ever had a chance to make the Post Season. But with the Bucs and Bears both losing and the Cowboys losing to the Eagles it was their in to the Playoffs.

If the Eagles can go into Minnesota next week and win it will be great to see what a season of up and downs has the potential to turn into. A possible Cinderella Story in the making

P.S. – Remember, Next time you owe your Pimp money you better pay up or you will get Jeffrey Lurie Pimp Slapped!
