Destinee was recently named Offensive Player of the Week in Volleyball by ESPN, however some may find her name to be even more offensive than her game.  She is a 6-4 senior from San Antonio Texas and has also made her mark in high jump.  In 2008-09 she was named the Big 12 Female Athlete of the Year, which as stated by FTR Sports, “is a lot nicer than what her parents named her.”

You would expect the name Destinee Hooker to be much like Geeves.  When you give you child one of these names, in many cases you have already determined their future occupation.  She is still young, but it appears that Destinee has thankfully avoided her true calling.

The Alabama Crimson Tide will face the Florida Gators in the SEC Championship Game, hosted in Atlanta Georgia this week, a true test for both teams.  You can be sure that if the Crimson Tide hold off the Gators they will be playing for the National Championship.

Again controversy is around the BCS standings and how the Oklahoma Sooners just barely edged out the Texas Longhorns.  The Sooners have a .9351 BCS average and the Texas Longhorns have a BCS average at .9223 boy that was close.  The Sooners now have the inside track to play either the Alabama Crimson Tide or the Florida Gators in the National Championship Game, if they can beat the Missouri Tigers in the Big 12 Title Game this upcoming week.

The Sooners lost to the Longhorns earlier on in the year in a shootout 45-35, but still edged the Longhorns by a very slim margin in the BCS standings.  The Sooners have a .9351 BCS average and the Texas Longhorns have a BCS average at .9223.

The Sooners will now go on to face the Missouri Tigers in the Big 12 title game next week.  A 3 way tiebreaker forced the league to use the best BCS rating to determine which team would play the Missouri Tigers on Saturday in Kansas City, Mo.  With a win against the Tigers next week the Sooners will be guaranteed a spot in the BCS National Championship Game.

The Gators have 1 more huge game left in their schedule when they take on the Seminoles next week. You can be sure that the Gators will be ready for that game. The Gators will then play in the SEC Championship game against the undefeated Alabama Crimson Tide.

It what was the game of the week the Oklahoma Sooners routed the No. 2 in the country vaulting themselves to the No.3 spot with the impressive victory. The Sooners can solidify the No.3 ranking if they can beat the Cowboys in their finale. The BCS has been a controversial system for many years now, and this year is proving no different with a three way tie in the Big 12 South, all three teams feel they are deserving of a BCS Bowl Game.

The Gators are waiting for one of the top 2 teams to stumble which would open the door for them to sneak into the Orange Bowl.

There is a dandy of a game next week when the Texas Tech Red Raiders travel to Norman to take on the Oklahoma Sooners. That game has huge implications on what the National Championship setup will look like. Both teams feature high scoring offenses, Heisman candidates at the quarterback position, play-making wide receivers and the ability to entertain the fans like no other teams can.

The LSU Tigers and the Cincinnati Bearcats are second biggest mover this week, moving up 4 spots.

The LSU Tigers moved up to #20 from last weeks ranking of #20.  The Tigers came back from being down 28 points to Troy.  The Tigers can’t wait for the season to end.

The Cincinnati Bearcats moved to #16 this week and now sit atop the Big East.

Total Pro Sports – The Alabama Crimson Tide this week are again our #1 in our College Football Power Rankings, after beating LSU in close one 27-20 in overtime.

The Texas Tech Red Raiders again continue to prove why they are a top team in the Nation as they beat #9 ranked team, Oklahoma State Cowboys. Quarterback, Graham Harrell had another huge game for the Red Raiders, he threw for 456 yards and 6 touchdowns. His All American wide receiver Michael Crabtree was on the receiving end of 3 of those touchdowns and 89 yards. The combination of these 2 All Americans are creating fits for opposing D’s. Look for these two players to get drafted early in the first round next year by a NFL team.

Superman has been spotted on the Florida Gators. What other nickname can we give Tim Tebow as he rushed for 2 touchdowns and threw for 3. NFL teams are licking their lips at a chance to draft this monster, you can play him at any position.

College Football Power Rankings Movers And Shakers

Our biggest movers this week in our College FOOTBALL Power Rankings, were the North Carolina Tar Heels moving up 6 spots to number #17. UNC beat up on Georgia Tech 28-7, lead by their defensive play on the field.

The second biggest mover were the Air Force Falcons moving up 5 spots to #19. The Falcons move to 8-2 on the season after beating up on Colorado State 38-17. Air Force hosts #12 BYU next and then #16 TCU. Both should be tough match ups for the Falcons, and if they can win both would solidify themselves with a nice finish this year in the power rankings.

Our biggest shakers this week in our college Football Power Rankings for week 11 were 2 teams who both lost 6 spots in the rankings.

LSU lost 6 spots to #24 after they lost in over time to the Crimson Tide. The Tigers are slowly falling from the rankings and soon to be dropped out for good.

The second team in the top 6 spots were the Texas Christian Horned Frogs. The Frogs held a lead all game against Utah except for the 4th quarter allowing a touchdown and losing the game 13-10.

For the second time in one week a public figure has been reprimanded for something that was found on the net. This time Texas Longhorns offensive lineman Buck Burnette posted an update on social network “FaceBooked”, otherwise known as Facebook, that was just a little racist.

The comment on Facebook, was posted just after the Presidential election was won by Barack Obama. Who if you didn’t know was elected the first African American President of the United States Of America. The racist comment read,

“all the hunters gather up, we have a #$%&er in the whitehouse”

Soon after this was posted, word hit head coach Mack Brown who immediately kicked Buck Burnette off the team. Before removing his facebook profile, Buck Burnette posted this apology to anyone his comment offended.

“Clearly I have made a mistake and apologized for it and will pay for it. I received it as a text message from an acquaintance and immaturely put it up on facebook in the light of the election. I’m not racist and apologize for offending you. I grew up on a ranch in a small town where that was a real thing and I need to grow up. I sincerely am sorry for being ignorant in thinking that it would be ok to write that publicly and apologize to you in particular. I have to be more mature than to put the reputation of my team at stake and to spread that kind of hate which I don’t even believe in. Once again, I sincerely apologize.”

When will people learn that social networks on the net can be the devil for some. If you are famous or in someway the public eye, we recommend not signing up for any of these networks. What more can they do then just cause you harm as Caitlin Davis and Buck Burnette are now learning.

Total Pro Sports – We have a new #1 this week in our weekly College Football Power Rankings. The Alabama Crimson Tide vault to #1after the all mighty Texas Longhorns lose a close one against state rivals the Texas Tech Red Raiders.

In a Nationally televised game the Longhorns went to Texas Tech and lost what was supposed to be a come from behind win for the Horns. Graham Harrell the QB of the Red Raiders threw the ball to Michael Crabtree in double coverage. The All-American and number one wide receiver in the nation, shook off a defender and scampered into the end zone with one second left.

With this loss the Texas Longhorns have most likely lost their chances at a National Championship berth. The Red Raiders on the other hand still have a tough schedule, if they can stay undefeated they will be sure to win a berth in the BCS National Championship Game.

College Football Power Rankings Movers And Shakers

Our biggest movers this week in our College FOOTBALL Power Rankings, were 2 teams who did not even rank in our top 25 power rankings last week. The first team is the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets moving up 8 spots to number #17, this is also there first time this season ranked in our Top 25.

The second biggest mover again was not in our rankings last week and will appear for the first time in our college football power rankings this year. The Northwestern Wildcats move up 6 spots to #19. The Wildcats beat the Minnesota Golden Gophers without their starting QB, 24-17.

Our biggest shakers this week in our college Football Power Rankings for week 10 were 2 teams ranked in the top 10 last week. The Georgia Bulldogs were the first to drop out of the top 10, moving down 8 spots from #8 to #16. The Bulldogs got absolutely manhandled by the Florida Gators and Tim Tebow.

The second team in the top 10 to fall were the Texas Longhorns losing a nail bitter to the Red Raiders and dropping 5 spots from #1 in the Nation to #6. The Longhorns perfect season is now over and are scrambling to find a way to win a berth in the BCS National Championship Game.

Our biggest winners this week in our College FOOTBALL Power Rankings, were 3 teams who did not even rank in our top 25 power rankings last week. The first team is the Minnesota Golden Gophers moving up 9 spots to number #16, this is also there first time this season ranked in our power rankings. The second team that moved back into our College power rankings are the Michigan State Spartans, moving up 8 spots to #17. The Spartans beat their state rivals the Michigan Wolverines in a close one. Last but not least the Florida State Seminoles moved to #18 after last week not being ranked in our College Power Rankings.

Our biggest losers this week in our college Football Power Rankings for week 9 were LSU Tigers dropping 7 spots to #19, they were out played by the number #8 ranked Georgia Bulldogs. The Oklahoma State Cowboys and the Ohio State Buckeyes both lost 5 spots respectively to #14 and #15.The Cowboys played tough but lost to the almighty Texas Longhorns.
