Every time I browse through all of the available proposition bets leading up to the Super Bowl, I always stop to take a look at the 50-to-1 odds on a safety being the first score of the game and think to myself, “what are the chances?”

Judging by the bookmaker’s odds, I guess we can assume that the chances of a safety resulting in the first points of a Super Bowl is in fact 50-to-1.  Seeing as how we have already seen a safety recorded for the opening score of a Super Bowl before (in 1975, during Super Bowl IX between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Minnesota Vikings), I wasn’t expecting to see it happen again until at least Super Bowl LX.

I couldn’t have been more wrong!

As for the guy who placed the bet on the slip shown in the image above, he couldn’t have been more right, as Tom Brady was called for intentional grounding in the end zone during the Patriots’ first offensive play from scrimmage, a safety was awarded to the Giants, and this lucky dude was suddenly $50,000 richer.

Spotted at the Wet Republic pools at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Kendra and her former housemate Holly Madison had some fun by the pool with her soon-to-be husband.  Some drinks, skimpy swimsuits, and four beautiful flotation devices, and you have yourself some great eye-candy.  There must have been quite a bit of pitched tents in the pool those days.

So Baskett now has a couple more weeks of the single life, a weeding, and then possibly a honeymoon.  Doesn’t he have off-season workouts to attend?  I don’t think the stripper pool alone will cut it this year Hank.

Floyd “Money” Mayweather, as he likes to call himself, is set to fight Juan Marquez on July 18th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, but the main focus of the discussion seemed to be on the possibility of a Mayweather vs Pacquiao fight, much to the dismay of Floyd.  After being asked the question on whether he should be chasing Manny, Mayweather continued to defend his thrown as best fighter in the world.  At times the conversation got heated, especially when it was suggested that Floyd was the best pound-for-pound fighter until he retired, and now Pacquiao holds that reign.

Floyd Mayweather ends the argument by pointing to Manny’s losses, and then states “Pacquiao can be called the best pound for pound, you just call me the cash king, you know stats don’t lie.”  You are right Floyd.  Stats don’t lie.  And that’s why you are still number one, but the doubters continue to grow now.  So all that’s left for us to winder is whether we will ever get to see Pacquiao vs Mayweather?  If the boxing gods are kind, the answer will undoubtedly be “YES”.
