Most were impressed with his performance, including Italian journalist and AC Milan superfan Tiziano Crudeli.  In fact, Tiziano was so overcome with joy that he couldn’t help but do some moonwalking of his own.  Or, at least he attempted to do some moonwalking of his own.  Needless to say, he didn’t have much success.

After seeing this, Michael Jackson must be turning in his grave.

Here is a look at Boateng’s performance, followed by Tiziano’s painfully bad imitation.  Trust me when I say that you will want to see both.

It comes as little surprise to see that his moon walks, spins and splits won him this competition.  I guess his only real threat came from that little boy at the 1:20 mark, whose “milk the cow” moves would help reinforce the notion that white boys can’t dance.

It may not be long before either of these boys has his own halftime show.

The thing about Jackson’s style was that it was his own.  Although Michael looked great in the zipper-crazy jackets, no one else could ever really pull it off.  That especially goes for lame-looking hockey jersey versions.  While sometimes teams can pull off good jerseys honoring people (see Don Cherry Suit night), this is definitely not one of those times.

Shown here on team captain Shawn Weller, you can see for yourself what a horrible idea they are.  The famous red jacket ensemble Jackson wore is horribly reproduced in hockey jersey form.  And get this, to further “honor” Jacko, the players will be wearing a single white glove.  The team will be auctioning off the sweater-jerseys to benefit the Children’s Miracle Network, so its also for a good cause.

No matter how you feel about his personal life, Jackson was the King of Pop and his work deserves to be honored.  I’m just not sure a minor league hockey jersey night is the way to go with this one.

Time to re-write that “Ugliest Jerseys” list, don’t you think?

Moving to the sound of MJ’s hit “Beat It,” Shaq and the gang string together a music video worthy of a YouTube Grammy.  Besides some odd instances of young boys pulling up their shirts and thrusting there pelvis as the camera zooms in (and I could have sworn I saw one kid give “it” a smack), the video is quite impressive.

Not even Ron Artest had a music video prepared with his “Michael, Michael” song, but if he is looking for a cast, he may want to swing by Shaq’s house.

Total Pro Sports – The Michael Jackson tributes continue.  Refraining from pulling off any kind of stupid act, a la Arland Bruce, Ken Griffey Jr. stepped to the plate during his first at-bat Tuesday night against the Baltimore Orioles, with “Billy Jean” playing and wearing one white glove.

Griffey during that first inning at bat and scored on a Franklin Gutierrez home run.  He would switch back to his classic two black gloves for the remainder of the game.

So what’s next?  Maybe Kobe Bryant will come out for his first game next season with a bucket of KFC, in memory of Magic Johnson‘s MJ story.  While they are at it, he may also want to have Ron Artest‘s “Michael, Michael” blasting in the background.  Good thing Griffey refrained from using it.  “Billy Jean” was a good choice Ken.

Former and current LA Laker stars Magic Jahnson and Kobe Bryant got in front of the mic at the memorial services yesterday and spoke about their connection with MJ.  After speaking about how Jackson made him a better basketball player and a better person, Magic told a story about a diner the two had together.  I wont spoil it, but it ends with a bucket of KFC.  No joke.

Ron Artest has recently made headlines with his move to the Lakers, and what better place to boost your singing career than Los Angeles.  For his first big hit, we have his tribute to MJ titled “Michael, Michael.”  Just don’t expect them to play this at his memorial today.

For a song that is supposed to honor a man who has just passed away, Artest sure does swear a lot.  There are also some odd comments (Michael Jackson is still living in Ron Artest?), but when all is said and done, we would suggest that Ron stick to basketball.  Who knows.  Maybe if things work out well for him in the new city, he may be able to get Lil’ Wayne to sing a song about him this time (rather than teammate Kobe Bryant).

I wonder how long it will be before Shaq is singing his tribute to MJ?  Guess he’s still working on songs about his own move to Cleveland.

Total Pro Sports – Exactly one week ago, the world was in shock after word spread of the death of Michael Jackson.  Since then we have seen millions pay tribute to the fallen pop-star, but none as odd as Argos wideout Arland Bruce’s.

In the opening game of the CFL season last night between the Toronto Argos and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Bruce took a 21-yard reception in for the TD.  Celebrations are commonplace in the CFL and Bruce stuck to such an agenda by paying tribute to MJ.  So how did he go about doing so?  By stripping off his shoulder-pads and jersey, and laying dead on the floor with his arms crossed.  Just one question.  How is that a tribute to Michael Jackson?

The CFL is currently reviewing the celebration.  Not surprisingly, Bruce was hit with two objectionable conduct penalties following the incident.  That call makes sense in so many ways.

A few days ago The Score Blog caught him instigating a Twitter fight with Shawn Merriman.  That pretty much ended after a video threat from the Chargers linebacker.

Now Ocho Cinco is comparing yesterday’s tragic deaths to 9/11.  Now we can’t take such a comment seriously, as it is over Twitter, and Chad did say it (what else would we expect), but if he was loking for a way for himself to get into some hot water, he found it.  His initial comment was:

Okay, first Mrs. Fawcett now Mr. Jackson, please tell me that this is a mistaken rumor, if not this is just as sad as 9/11, about 22 hours ago from web

He has since reiterated such comments, later stating the following:

The 9/11 was a bit over the top, i am just in an emotional state right now, bare with me while i regroup people, be back in 10 minutes, about 22 hours ago from web

okay not as bad as 911, its sad period, both situations my goodness people, they just said he is okay in the hospital, about 22 hours ago from web

Isn’t it great how we are privileged to have 24 hour access to what Ocho Cinco is thinking.  Some people really should not have twitter accounts.
