North Carolina State Wolfpack vs. Rutgers Scarlet Knights

PapaJohns.com Bowl Game Preview

The game features two teams that are riding big winning streaks and resurrected their season at the midway point or towards the end. The Rutger Scarlet Knights have won 6 straight games after a 1-5 start to their season, players and coaches are thinking what could have been if not for their slow start. The Wolfpack are also riding a wave, winners of 4 straight, all ACC competition this team has the talent to compete.

The Scarlet Knights are led by quarterback Mike Teel and have been for multiple years now. However, the senior will be playing in his final game of the season as he has watched this program reach a higher level of standard. Teel believes that the moment the football program was heading in a new direction was is in a game earlier in his career in which the Knights were leading and he threw an interception just before halftime and got cheered off the field. There is no doubt the Knights had hopes of playing in a more prestigious bowl game, however, after starting 1-5 they should be glad to be here.

The North Carolina State Wolfpack are much younger at the quarterback position, but do not rest your head on that fact, Russell Wilson is having a solid year for the team. He enters the game with just under 1800 passing yards, 16 touchdowns and only 1 interception. Wilson also has the ability to move the chains with his legs and his mobility may be a key to the game.

PapaJohns.com Bowl Game Prediction

This will be Mike Teels’ final game and we believe the way the offense is moving the football it will be difficult for the Wolfpack to slow them down. The defense for the Scarlet Knights also picked it up while riding the winning streak, giving up 15.6 PPG while the offense was scoring at a rate of 40.5 PPG.
