With the game tied 2-2 in the bottom of the tenth inning, Morgan stepped to the plate and delivered the single that brought home Carlos Gomez and sent the Milwaukee Brewers and their fans into a frenzy, as they advanced to the American League Championship Series.

For The man who goes by the name of “Tony Plush,” there were only two words that could describe such a feeling:

“F*ck Yeah”

And in case you didn’t hear it the first time, Nyjer repeats it again and again. TBS caught it all on camera. Here it is.

On Saturday night, the Brew Crew’s Triple-A affiliate turned one of their own.

The funny thing is, the minor league triple play was far more impressive than the one turned by the big leaguers.

Let me set it up for you. The Nashville Sounds were in Omaha on Saturday playing the Omaha Storm Chasers. In the bottom of the third inning, the Storm Chasers had runners on first and second with nobody out when Clint Robinson cracked a shot to deep center field. Nashville center fielder Logan Schafer got a late jump on the ball, but managed to catch up with it. That’s when this happened:

The ball goes off Schafer’s glove, off his head, then back into his glove for the first out. Schafer throws to second baseman Eric Farris for out #2, who then throws to first baseman Mat Gamel for out #3. Rally: terminated.

Obviously, the Omaha base runners were so befuddled by the initial play out in center field that they lost all sense of space and time, allowing Nashville the opportunity to complete the rare triple play.

With James Looney at the plate, and runners on first and second with nobody out in the top of the second inning, Brewers pitcher Randy Wolf found himself in a jam, but he got out of it as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Wolf got Looney to hit a ground ball to second baseman Josh Wilson, who flipped the ball to shortstop Yuniesky Betancourt for the force out at second. Betancourt then threw the ball to Price Fielder for the force out at first, and Fielder then relayed the ball home to catch Matt Kemp trying to score on the play from second base.

If that was too hard for you to follow, just check out the video below.

It was a costly mistake for Team Bratwurst, as they would go on to finish in last place before being sent to the barbeque and served to a hungry fan the following inning.

Here is a look at the race.

The Brewers’ third baseman ended the day going 3-for-4 at the plate. All three of those at bats resulted in home runs, and they each came off the Cards’ newly acquired starting pitcher, Edwin Jackson. When it was all said and done, McGehee would cash in five runs, and those five runs were the difference in the Brewers’ 10-5 victory over St. Louis.

In addition to recording the victory, Milwaukee also moved 3.5 games up on St. Louis for first place in the NL Central. They have McGehee to thank, as he earns our “Stat Line of the Night” for Wednesday, August 3, 2011.

During an in-game interview with Fox Sports Brewers, Kranitz was having some difficulties remaining focused, as he was showered with sunflower seeds by his staff’s ace, Yovani Gallardo. But like any good pitcher should be able to do, and like Joba Chamberlain wasn’t able to do during Game 2 of the 2007 ALDS, Kranitz maintained his composure despite all the tiny objects flying around his head.

Gallardo, Shaun Marcum and Zack Greinke may all be great pitchers, but they can also learn a thing or two from Kranitz’s performance in front of the camera last night.

It all started when Drake called Molina out on a third strike pitch that was clearly inside. That was enough to set the Cards’ catcher off, as he showered Drake with spit while cursing him out face-to-face.

Luckily, the grounds crew at Miller Park wasn’t required to bring out the rain tarp during Molina’s brief shower and the Cards eventually earned the victory in the 11th inning.

Here is a look at Molina showering Drake with expletives and saliva.

With no outs, Morgan drove Chris Carpenter’s 1-1 pitch into the gap in center field. That is how a regular person would describe the play, but anyone who knows Morgan’s alter egos, Tony Plush, or in this case, Tony Gumbo, know that they are anything but regular people. So rather than simply providing us with your typical “I was waiting on a good pitch and when I got it I drove it into the outfield” explanation, he talked about “plush-dementals” and “tickling the ball into the outfield” during this bizarre post-game interview.

Finally, we were treated to a show of class from a fan at last night’s game between the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Milwaukee Brewers. And the best part of all is that the classy fan was actually a young kid.

As the Brewers trotted off the field at the end of the third inning, Rickie Weeks tossed a ball to a couple of kids in the stands. Young Nicolas was the intended recipient, but he couldn’t hang on to the initial toss. And when someone below the railing tossed the ball back up to the group of kids, it was the older Ian who got his hands on it. However, as he raced back to show off his souvenir to his dad and friends, he noticed that Nicolas was left sitting at his seat with a sad look on his face. This didn’t sit well with Ian, who proceeded to return the ball back to Nicolas in an act of good faith.

And for those of you who believe in karma, you probably wont be surprised to hear that Ian was later awarded with a trip to the Diamondbacks’ press box, where he received a signed contract from Mark Grace (which comes with four tickets to a game, we believe) as well as an autographed Justin Upton bat.

A signed contract and an autographed Justin Upton bat for a plain baseball? I’d take that trade any day of the week. But in this case, it was well deserved. Classy move Ian. Your parents should be proud.

Standing on second base with one out in the bottom of the fourth inning of yesterday’s game between the Diamondbacks and the Brewers, Drew attempted to make it home on a single to left field, but during the play at the plate the shortstop’s right ankle got caught under him, resulting in a gruesome fracture.

Drew wasn’t the only one to go down with an injury in the inning, as Brewers center fielder Carlos Gomez suffered a fractured clavicle on the very next play. Yes, it was just one of those nights/innings in Arizona.

Here is a look at Drew’s injury.
