Not to worry!  He was able to stumble upon some generous tailgaters who had plenty of ketchup and mustard of their own, and they were more than happy to share it with him…

…Or should we say, all over him.

As far as tailgating traditions go, this may be among the dumbest, but I guess that is what most have come to expect when paying a visit to Orchard Park.

During yesterday’s beat down in The Black Hole, Mark Sanchez took a few seconds during a T.V. timeout to scarf down a hot dog.  The CBS cameras caught the Jets’ rookie quarterback applying some mustard to his small snack before quickly devouring it.

The former USC Trojan star was hoping the incident would go undetected, but that was not the case.  Hasn’t he learned that with all the media exposure at sporting events these days, the cameras will catch just about anything.

Following the game, Greg Gumble and Dan Dierdorf caught up with Sanchez and they used that opportunity to ask him whether he has “always been a mustard guy”, to which he replied:

“Ya, that was stupid.  I didn’t eat much before the game.  I couldn’t eat.  I had a terrible stomach ache.  On the sideline I asked somebody for a hot dog and they got one, so I tried to eat it.

I wasn’t feeling very good, but I’m gonna get in trouble for that one, I’ll bet.  I’m sorry.”

Is was not the most entertaining hot dog eating moment we have seen at a sporting event, but Sanchez may have just worked himself a nice endorsement opportunity with Oscar Mayer.
