This massive crowning of Sullinger would account for two of Barlow’s 14 points on the evening (tying his season-high).  But despite coming out on the losing end of this highlight reel play, it was Sullinger and his Buckeyes who would come out on top where it counts, as the highly-touted forward recorded 18 points during Ohio State’s 87-84 victory.

As for Barlow and his Boilermaker teammates, they leave Value City Arena with a hard fought loss to the nation’s No. 3 ranked team, and the following highlight reel clip.

Working with a two-man advantage during a recent game, three Western Michigan players set up along the point for what we’ll call “the double one-timer,” as Dennis Brown faked a shot and allowed the pass to slide through his legs to Matt Tennyson, who finished off the play with a one-time blast from the point.

Last night the two schools hooked up again, this time on the hard-court.  And while at least one of the Alabama fans in attendance was wondering whether or not LSU would be able to pass mid-court, it didn’t take the Tigers’ players nearly as long to reach the offensive zone this time around – 20 seconds, to be exact.  And in doing so, they received a warm round of applause from the Crimson Tide fans.

LSU would go on to lose by a score of 69-53, dropping another contest to their SEC rivals.  But on the bright side, at least they were able to score some points this time around.

There have been plenty of scandals that have taken place within NCAA football programs across the nation throughout the past 12 years.  MTV’s “Clutch Blog” helps us take a look at them with this interesting “College Football Scandal Map.”

Following a timeout during last night’s game between the Cajuns and the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers, Louisiana-Lafayette sent six players onto the court to take on the Hilltoppers’ five players.  The referees didn’t seem to notice it, and neither did the Western Kentucky coaching staff.  And by the time anyone did notice what had just happened, Louisiana-Lafayette’s Elfrid Payton had already scored the game-winning basket and the Ragin’ Cajuns were already celebrating their victory.

It was a strange sequence of events, and things only got stranger this morning when Hilltoppers head coach Ken McDonald was fired for his inability to come up with an effective 5-on-6 defense…

…or maybe it had something to do with Western Kentucky’s 5-11 record.  Whatever the case may be, you can check out all of the action from Louisiana-Lafayette’s last-minute power-play in the video below.

With only eight career minutes played, Dill was able to catch the eye of some when he was spotted performing his Aaron Rodgers belt celebration from the bench during last year’s Big East Tournament.  He was at it once again during Seton Hall’s 75-63 victory over No. 8 Connecticut on Tuesday night, as he pulled out the “booty slap”, the “down-low fist-pump”, and the “Thor hammer.”

Rather than being awarded the touchdown, Virginia Tech was forced to attempt a field-goal on fourth down, which they would miss.  A few plays later, Michigan would line up and kick the game-winning field goal and capture the 2012 All-State Sugar Bowl by a score of 23-20.

So were the Hokies robbed by some poor officiating?  I’d have to argue that they were.  After all, I still can’t find any conclusive evidence to overturn the call on the field (which was a touchdown) during Coale’s diving catch.  You can see it all for yourself in the video below.

It’s January 2 as I write this, and I’m beat. I can’t handle any more college football, despite the fact that the most important games are starting just now. The droning chant “we don’t need/want this many bowl games,” is almost as obnoxious as the actual number of bowl games, but that doesn’t mean it’s wrong. College football is my favorite sport, and I can’t handle so many games, and neither can the sport.
