			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><a href="http://www.totalprosports.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/mikka-kiprusoff.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-6637" title="Mikka Kiprusoff" src="http://www.totalprosports.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/mikka-kiprusoff-300x207.jpg" alt="Mikka Kiprusoff" width="300" height="207" /></a>Total Pro Sports -  At the conclusion of the regular season, the popular Canadian sports broadcasting station TSN set out to find the <a title="The 2009 Top 10 NHL Plays Of The Year" href="http://www.totalprosports.com/blog/index.php/2009/04/2009-top-10-nhl-plays-of-the-year/" target="_self">top play of the year in the NHL 2008-09 regular season</a>.  With the help of fans, they are now down to two.  The final is between Anaheim Ducks young sniper <strong>Bobby Ryan&#8217;s</strong> spin-o-rama goal, and <strong>Mikka Kiprusoff&#8217;s</strong> diving stick save.  Both are remarkable plays deserving of being among the final two.</p>
<p><span id="more-6621"></span>Some of the others that made it into <a href="http://www.tsn.ca/window/playoftheyear_showdown.aspx">TSN&#8217;s bracket</a> for best play of the year include <strong>Johan Franzen</strong> and <strong>Alexander Ovechkin</strong>, both with outstanding goals.  you can see the final two (placed 3 and 2) along with other great goals, assists and hits on TSN top 10 plays of the 09-09 season below.</p>

<p>I guess that drinking huge amounts of alcohol the night before games must be his secret for playing so well.  For the record, the Capitals beat the Toronto Maple Leafs 2-1 the next night and Ovechkin didn&#8217;t register a single point, I wonder why?</p>

<p>Here is another picture from the event which shows Ovechkin with  teammate Nicklas Backstrom, who looks like he is still waiting for puberty to hit.  It is also interesting to note, as per people present at the event, that Backstrom seemed completely sober, which was in stark contrast to Ovechkin, who sort of looked like a Vampire with a uni-brow.</p>
