As you may have already heard, Rob Gronkowski decided to celebrate a successful first six weeks of the 2011 NFL season by spending a portion of his bye week with pron star Bibi Jones.  Pictures of the two, including one with Bibi wearing Gronk’s jersey and the Pats’ tight end shirtless, surfaced on the porn star’s Twitter account and have since created quite the stir.

In fact, they created such a big stir that Gronkowski has since felt the need to apologize to Patriots owner Robert Kraft and explain himself to the media.

“I mean, I didn’t intend anything to hurt the reputation of anyone on the New England Patriots or on behalf of (team owner) Robert Kraft,” Gronkowski said, according to The Associated Press. ”It was a simple picture. That’s all. I’m here now. I’m here to talk about the Pittsburgh Steelers and the big game this weekend.”

I, for one, do not understand the need for an apology or explanation. The man has 401 receiving yards and five touchdowns on the season and he was simply enjoying a much-deserved bye week. Is he not allowed to hang out and take PG-rated photos with pron stars? Bibi is human after all. Perhaps she is a big Patriots fan and always wanted a photo with one of her favorite Pats players. Does her line of work mean she should be treated like a parasite by any athlete who does not want to face the media’s scrutiny?

At the end of the day, the image was harmless and it did nothing more than create an interesting story that had a few fans believe Gronkowski could land on the IR with a season-ending STD (he has since claimed that he did not sleep with her).  No damage was done and perhaps the best way for Gronkowski to silence his critics is to have himself another three-touchdown performance, like he did during last year’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

In this picture, Tony Hawk shows he’s still got it. Okay, I’m just messing with you. That’s not Tony Hawk. Well, I don’t think it’s Tony Hawk. The skateboarding legend is old, but he’s not that old. Besides, he’s too busy cheating on his wife with his best friend’s wife to be skateboarding. No, this is just an awesome picture that captures perfectly the type of senior citizen I hope to be one day. Is this photo almost certainly a product of photoshop? Yes. Is it still totally bad-ass? Also, yes.

Then people began to come out and say that the image was set up and the entire incident was staged.  We now have video evidence to disprove that theory as well.

The video below shows Scott Jones and Alex Thomas being trampled on by riot police in the downtown streets of Vancouver.  Alex was shoved to the ground, where she lay in pain, while Scott can be seen shielding his girlfriend from the police and comforting her as she weeps (or laughs?).

This should be enough to silence all the naysayers who believe the image was fixed.  I can’t wait to hear what all the non-believers will come up with next.

Has anybody started a website or tumblr page titled “Awkward kid with hot cheerleaders,” yet? I feel like it’d be a huge success. Well, here’s another kid who can’t control his boner excitement around two dolled out Titans cheerleaders. My guess is his eyebrows and nostrils weren’t the only thing that raised/flared during this pic. And I bet that’s what caused the aforementioned reactions. Weeeeeee!

Total Pro Sports – Those Chicago Cubs fans never seem to disappoint.  Whether it is the rowdiness of their bleacher boys, or their inability to understand the dynamics of a baseball hat, they always seem to provide something for our entertainment.

This time it is part of the Cubs’ female fan base that has a little something to show us.

Ever find yourself at the ball game trying to take a picture, but your damn digital camera just wont zoon in quite enough?  Why not try some binoculars?  Maybe she was trying to get a closer look at the Shane Victorino beer shower.

Let’s just hope she tried to use the camera’s zoom lens first.  I wonder how the pic came out.
