If Blake Griffin continues to make posters at this rate, environmentalists around the world may start thinking about breaking his knee caps in an effort to save some of those trees.

His latest posterization came during last night’s game against the Oklahoma City Thunder, as Blake soared up and over the 6-foot-10 Kendrick Perkins and threw the ball through the rim for the hoop and the harm.  And like every Griffin dunk these days, it was followed by an “Oh Me Oh My” from Clippers play-by-play man, Ralph Lawler.

Earlier in the season New Jersey Nets forward Kris Humphries was posterized by Blake Griffin.  No big deal, right?  After all, every NBA player gets posterized at some point in their career.  Just ask Dwyane Wade and LeBron James.  And besides, Blake Griffin has already posterized half the players in the NBA.  It was only a matter of time before Humph was added to that list.

Now we fast forward to last night’s game between the Chicago Bulls and the New Jersey Nets, as Humphries was posterized once again.  But this time it wasn’t one of the league’s high-flying superstars putting him on a poster.  It was Brian Scalabrine, a.k.a. “The White Mamba.”

I understand that in most cases, one must get dunked on in order to be “posterized,” but as the above image proves, at times a reverse layup can make for an equally impressive poster image.

Now the real question is whether this smooth move by Scalabrine will earn him a date with Kim Kardashian?  Check it out.

The Oklahoma City Thunder not only won Game 2 of their Western Conference Finals series in Dallas last night, but they also sent a message to the Mavericks in the process.  And at no point in the game was that message heard louder than with one minute remaining in the first quarter.  It was at that moment that the Thunder’s Kevin Durant decided he would make a poster, and he wanted the Mavs’ Brendan Haywood to be a part of it.

It was a highlight reel slam that inspired TNT color commentator Mark Jackson to spit out the following phrase

“My goodness, Kevin Durant on the out-of-bounds play says to Brendan Haywood ‘excuse me, I got an appointment with the rim.  You’re in this poster big fella.’”

Who writes this stuff for him?

The dunk would give Durant three (he hit the ensuing free-throw as well) of his 24 points on the night, as the Thunder took Game 2 by a score of 106-100.  Above you can see Durant and Haywood’s cool new poster.  Below you will find footage of the dunk.  Enjoy!

Gibson stole the show last night with a monstrous two-handed dunk over the out-stretched arms of Wade, who is usually on the other end of this type of posterization.  As for Gibson’s Bulls, they would go on to win Game One by a score of 103-82.

Let me guess how all this transpired. The Denver Nuggets’ J.R. Smith probably approached the San Antonio Spurs’ Gary Neal at some point during the game and the following conversation ensued:

J.R.:  ”Look dude, I’m trying to make myself a wicked awesome poster so that I have something to give all of my family members and friends for Christmas, but these photographers don’t seem to be interested in snapping a picture of me while I am shooting a three-pointer.  You think you can help a brother out and get under the rim so that I can perform a nasty slam on you?

Neal:  ”Sure thing J.R.  I was actually hoping to get myself on a poster as well.  Where should I stand?”

J.R.: “At the top of the restricted area should do.”

Neal: “Sounds good.  Just try to keep your crotch out of my face.”

J.R.: “I’ll try, but I can’t promise anything.”

Well, at least J.R. was honest.  Here is a look at his nasty posterization of Neal.

Carmelo Anthony showed us a huge slam last week to open the NBA season.  That was a ridiculous dunk.  Now, Travis Outlaw is having his say with the rim and his defender Rudy Gay.  In this video, Outlaw gets full extension with his arm and throws down on Rudy Gay. That is a statement dunk and it was reflected in the final score, as Outlaw’s Blazers crushed the lowly Grizzlies.

This is what we call in the basketball world “getting posterized”.  LeBron wanted to posterize former President George W. Bush. In essence, Gay was right up in Outlaw’s face when Outlaw threw down the dunk, meaning that if a poster is made of this dunk, Gay will be featured prominently with a scrunched up “dunked on” face.  Ouch.

We’ll thank The Score Blog for this interesting story about how LeBron James Skills Academy turned into a no-photography zone after King James was posterized by the high school phenom with a two-handed dunk.  Gary Parrish from CBS Sports described the incident as follows:

The word when I arrived at the LeBron James Skills Academy was that Monday’s best highlight came in a pick-up game featuring the college players and James himself. According to the collection of NBA scouts and other folks here, Xavier’s Jordan Crawford dunked on James pretty good. So I had to find out whether it was true.

“It happened, and it was bad,” said Michael Gilchrist, the top player in the Class of 2011. “That was something to see.”

When Parrish began looking for more information on what he had missed, he found it from freelance photographer Ryan Miller.  Unfortunately, there was no video to accompany the explanation:

Turns out, there were at least two cameras rolling Monday night when Crawford dunked on James during a pick-up game here at the LeBron James Skills Academy. It was a two-handed jam, the kind that would’ve circulated quickly on YouTube. But Nike officials eliminated that possibility shortly after the dunk happened by allegedly confiscating tapes from various cameramen.

Worth noting is that there is no policy against filming at the LeBron James Skills Academy, and Miller said he had been filming all day without incident. Nobody ever told him to stop. Nobody ever said there was a problem … until after Crawford dunked on James.

“LeBron called Lynn over and told him something,” Miller said. “That’s how I knew his name was Lynn. LeBron said, ‘Hey, Lynn. Come here.’”

Minutes later, Miller said Merritt demanded his tape. [CBS Sports]

So now we are left here wondering just how mythical this dunk was.  We are tired of seeing LeBron James highlights, featuring him hitting a shot from on his ass, or from an impossible angle.  Give us what we want Nike and LeBron.  WE WANT THE TAPE!
