No one knows how to make a grand entrance quite like a Major League Baseball reliever.  On Tuesday night it was Paderes reliever Heath Bell getting the fans at Chase Field on their feet with a sprint-and-slide entrance at this year’s All-Star Game.  Last night is was Brian Wilson’s turn, as the Giants reliever made his appearance on the red carpet at the ESPY Awards wearing a stunning spandex tuxedo, along with a pair of black high-top sneakers and a cane.

Thankfully, Wilson did not have to leave his seat to accept any awards in his revealing attire, however, ESPN was smart enough to give him his own 30 second bit.

Only Wilson can turn a short, “go online to vote” segment into something both strange and hilarious.

Chicago treated their faithful hockey fans to a red carpet entrance prior to the game as each member of the team made their way into the arena one at a time, shaking hands with those on the other side of the velvet ropes.  For Byfuglien, it was an occasion that would allow him to make a fashion statement.  Apparently he was looking for something that would go well with the red carpet, and he found it in a similarly red suit.

Byfuglien’s suit is not the only red thing the Blackhawks’ power forward has brought to the table as he has also turned the red light on three times thus far this season after only five games.  Relatively unknown at this point last year, the former 8th round pick in 2003 NHL Entry Draft is finding a way to get noticed both on the ice and off it.
