Minutes later, Steaua goalkeeper Ciprian Tatarusanu was hit by a flare from the crowd, causing the referees to abandon the match and award Steaua with the 3-0 victory.  They were already leading by a score of 2-0 at the time of the incident.  When it was all said and done, Galamaz and Tatarusanu were both rushed to a nearby hospital with serious injuries, while Steaua’s Novak Martinovic and Razvan Stanca were sent off for attacking the pitch invader.

If it was the pitch invader’s intention to intimidate the opposition and chase them off the field, he was successful.  Unfortunately, it didn’t earn his team the victory and it will likely result in no more home games for Petrolul Ploiesti for at least one year.

They were at it again over the weekend as a match between CSU Arad and RCM Timisoara turned ugly only 20 minutes in, leaving three players injured and in need of a visit to the hospital.

So how did they manage to beef things up?  Simple!  Just allow some kicking and punching during the scrum.  And when a players is down, don’t forget to throw in a few more swift boots and cleat stomps for good measure.

That would sum up the scene one the field as one of the hospitalized players suffered head injuries, while the others were left with a broken nose and missing teeth.  There was no fake blood needed in this one.

Alessandro Rosa Vieira, also known as Falcão, was at the Grand Prix de Futsal, one of the largest annual indoor football tournaments.  Representing his home country Brazil, he carried the ball in from center on a break-a-way, took it towards the goalie, and just at the last second, flips it over the charging keeper and heads it into a wide open net.  Sounds crazy?  That’s why you have to see it to believe it.

Brazil went on to win this match 12-0 against Romania.  No surprise there either.  Unfortunately for the Romanian keeper, he was unable to avoid further embarrassment with this goal.  Getting deeked out of his pants as he did, he must have felt a little like Gennaro Gattuso during this not-so-bright moment.

Soccer has produced some great highlight reel goals to this point in 2009, like Luis Ángel Landín’s scorpion goal, or this ball juggling along the line during an Asian soccer match.  Many have stated this to be one of futsal’s greatest goals ever, and we here at TPS are also giving it the title as this year’s greatest soccer goal.  With another six months left we can only hope someone possesses the skills to top Falcão’s masterpiece.

In the dying moments of CFR Cluj’s 3-0 victory over Timisoara, fans of the losing side attempted to take part in the action.  First a couple of fans stormed the field, one getting directly in the play and screening the goalies as a goal was scored.  He then did what any soccer player would do after a goal and ran around aimlessly in celebration.

Funny part was he began looking around to see where security was chasing him from, but could not find any possible threats.  That was because stadium officials and riot police were busy in the corner of the stadium containing the rowdy fans who began starting fires and setting flares.  Chairs and rocks were also being thrown at authorities as the game came to a sudden halt.

Such incidents are nothing new to soccer games, and this comes just over a week after one fan died at a Copa Brazil match.  At least it wasn’t the players fighting this time, although maybe that would have worked out a lot better.

So how did police end this madness?  With a sudden rush of the out-of-control fans, pushing them over the stadium fence.  Just think of it as taking out the trash.  The Romanian fans were tough, up until their opponents decided to fight back.

Total Pro Sports – At 17 years of age this Romanian hottie named Simona Halep is beginning to get noticed around the tennis world, not only for her good looks but her skill on the court.

Born in Constantza, Romania, Simona is ranked 317th in the world and already being compared to the one time tennis star Anna Kournikova.

Being compared to Anna Kournikova as a tennis player is probably not a good thing, but all the potential endorsement deals that Anna received are definitely a plus for simona halep.  Hopefully she can prove the world wrong and parlay her good looks and skills on the court into a long and successful tennis career.

Halep isn’t classically beautiful, but neither was Kournikova. And she’s got a fresh, girl-next-door look that consumer product companies covet. The key will be if she can make a run in a major.

I called up “Don Carbs” last night to see what was going on and if he had made his way to some crazy party I was also invited to go to. When he answered I heard no noise and it seemed to be very quiet! So I proceeded to ask where he was? It seemed to me as something happend or something was wrong, all he said was he didn’t want to talk.

I stopped took the phone off my ear and had to look at the name on the screen, “Don Carbs” it read, ok so I called the right person. I said are you upset Italy lost, he said “yes”. I proceeded to call him a donkey and a whole other bunch of names that I would rather keep off this post. All Don Carbs said “they had to win!” I knew from those words “Don Carbs” had placed a wager on Italy for some stupid reason. All I said was how much? the phone went silent! he never responded. Lets just say, I’ve known him for a while so just by that I know he lost what some people could use to put as a down payment on a car. I just don’t mean a Pontiac Sunfire, I mean a BMW 5 series!

I said to Don Carbs why would you bet Italy, when that’s your team? Haven’t you heard of the number 1 rule in sports betting? “NEVER BET YOU FAVORITE TEAM!” Again he responded like a true donkey degenerate, “But they had to win”. Sometimes it just doesn’t sink.

I really don’t know how many times I have to tell people this and how it doesn’t process in there heads, “NEVER BET YOU FAVORITE TEAM!”. How can you bet on a team you like? don’t you think they are always going to win? Remember a team never has to win, anything can happen in sports.

The morale of the story is “NEVER BET YOU FAVORITE TEAM!”. Just go watch the game and cheer for your team to win cause you like them not cause you have money on them. This will save all you degenerates out there some money! �
