Rajon Rondo Uses His Head To Make An Alley-Oop Pass (Video)

Being a pass-first point guard, Rajon Rondo has probably heard the words “use your head” plenty of times over the course of his playing career. he Celtics star may have taken that advice a little too literally during a charity game in Boston over the weekend, as he use his forehead to dish off a perfect alley-oop pass to a streaking Rudy Gay.

Was it Rondo’s best alley-oop pass this year? That question remains up for debate, but I can assure you that somewhere in America there is a coach from Rondo’s past who is watching this video and saying to his players, “See! I always told that Rajon to use his head!”

As for the second best part about Halloween, that would be getting to see what types of creative costumes professional athletes from various sports can come up with. He have already showed you a few of those costumes, including Zdeno Chara’s frightening pink bunny outfit and Raffi Torres’ very controversial Jay-Z costume.

Dunks come in all shapes and sizes, but generally they can be broken down into two categories: a dunk, and a DUNK. If you are a basketball fan you know what I mean. If you’re not, let me explain it to you. Sometimes, in the flow of the game, someone throws down a dunk. It could be two-handed or one-handed and it is worth 2 points. That’s the first kind. Then there’s the dunk that is made with authority in a defender’s face or out in transition that resonates far beyond the two points that are tallied on the scoreboard. That’s the second kind of dunk, the DUNK.

Carmelo Anthony showed us a huge slam last week to open the NBA season. That was a ridiculous dunk. Now, Travis Outlaw is having his say with the rim and his defender Rudy Gay. In this video, Outlaw gets full extension with his arm and throws down on Rudy Gay. That is a statement dunk and it was reflected in the final score, as Outlaw’s Blazers crushed the lowly Grizzlies.

This is what we call in the basketball world “getting posterized”. LeBron wanted to posterize former President George W. Bush. In essence, Gay was right up in Outlaw’s face when Outlaw threw down the dunk, meaning that if a poster is made of this dunk, Gay will be featured prominently with a scrunched up “dunked on” face. Ouch.

Total Pro Sports- The NBA has announced that Portland Trailblazers rookie Rudy Fernandez will be participating in this years Slam Dunk competition.

This year was the first time that fans got to vote for the final participant in the contest. Rudy beat out fellow rookies Russell Westbrook (Oklahoma City Thunder) and Joe Alexander (Milwaukee Bucks). He will be joined by defending champ Dwight Howard (Orlando Magic), former champ Nate Robinson (New York Knicks) and high flier Rudy Gay (Memphis Grizzlies).

This is a historic appearance for Fernandez, as it marks the first time a European born player will be taking part in the competition. I would not bank on him to win it because Howard always has some crazy ideas up his sleeve, like Superman from last year and my personal favorite, the Sticker dunk from 2 years ago.

The last white guy to win the event was Brent Barry (Houston Rockets) in 1996. Barry won the contest by doing a Micheal Jordan inspired dunk by taking off from the free throw line.

Regardless of what happens in the competition, Fernandez should do better than this guy.

LeBron James Crazy Circus Shot Against The Grizz

Total Pro Sports – We are 4 days away from LeBron James aka King James Big Announcement “Brace Yourself” and we can’t wait till he shocks the world to tells everyone he’s hanging up his sneakers for the cleats and playing for the Cleveland Browns……..just kidding.

Last night the Cleveland Cavaliers and LeBron James beat the Memphis Grizzlies 102-87 and James finished off with a tripple double; 30 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists. The Cavaliers are off to one of their best starts as a franchise at 30-6 they are currently second overall in the NBA just 1game behind the Los Angeles Lakers.

If you missed last nights game King James had another highlight reel shot. As he drove the lane passed Rudy Gay, he was then fouled by Greg Buckner on his way to the hoop. As the announcers in the video called it

“You don’t want to ever be someones highlight film!”.

Well Greg Buckner, you have just been posterized by Lebron James!
