For those who aren’t familiar with the Canadian basketball star, not only can he deliver on the court, but his performance behind the scenes with a mic in his hand may now have some wondering what his greatest talent really is.

Prior to showing the clip, Nash admits to David Letterman that he believed it would be the Cavs taking on the Lakers. No worries there Steve. You aren’t alone. Nike had been on the same track for the entire playoffs as well, evident in their Kobe vs. LeBron ads.

Staying calm in front of the camera, Nash takes up several interviews with a wide array of individuals, including Robert Horry (yes, the same Robert Horry that bodychecked him in the playoffs a couple years ago), and Jeff Van Gundy. His questions are great, but none better than when he asks Jeff whether his brother Stan, coach of the Magic, ever got laid in high school. We are still waiting on that answer.

Nash also tried to get courtside, but it seems as though getting by security at an NBA game is a bit more difficult than doing so at the French Open. Guess it can be hard for a smaller white guy to convince someone he is a basketball player.

Regardless of such barriers, Nash was still able to provide some great laughs. Now that he has been to the Finals, the only thing remaining is playing in one.

With the game tied and only 0.6 seconds left on the clock, Magic coach Stan Van Gundy devised a brilliant play that would leave Lee with an open backdoor ally-op layup. Unfortunately he missed it by quite a substantial margin and his team would go on to lose in overtime 101-96. The win now gives Wolverine and his teammates a commanding 2-0 series lead headed to Orlando for the next three games.

Someone may have to call Magneto to stop Kobe Bryant, Gasol and the rest of the Lakers. Even the Candyman, Lamar Odom, was firing on all cylinders. I guess Superman (Dwight Howard) is no match for the X-Men. If he is, he’s running out of time to prove it.

It began in the first quarter with the game tied, Dwight aka Superman went up to block a Willie Green shot. On his way down teammate Courtney Lee took an elbow to the face, leaving him out of it and forcing him to leave the game. Not too long after that, following a Magic basket, Superman tried to disguise an elbow to the head of Sixers center Samuel Dalembert. The blatant elbow didn’t go unnoticed and Howard would recieve a technical for it. Whether a suspension will follow is anyone’s guess at this point.

When all was said and done and it was time to hear what the coaches had to say in their post-game press conferences, an interesting battle between Sixers coach Tony DiLeo accused Howard of “living in the 3 second lane”. After being asked to speak further on this, he continued to utter the same notion that Superman is getting an unfair advantage in the 3 second lane.

When it was Stan Van Gundy’s turn to speak, he immidiatly asked whether he should do the same as his counterpart and begin to lobby for calls. Refusing to accept DiLeo’s explanation, he even questioned whether Howard’s numbers were simply a result of him being good. I think Stan may have a point here.

Here are videos of the two elbows (to Lee and Dalembert), and the two coached speaking about the game.

They honor him, but while they’ve got a lot of ex-players in their organization, they’ve never made any move to try to hire him. That to me is amazing.”

He also said that the fans love him, but the organization pretends to appreciate and like him, which is also ridiculous. Patrick Ewing is one of the faces of the Knicks organization history, and will always be known for what he did in Madison Square Garden. Many teams have tried to obtain him as a part of the coaching staff, and although I do not know if the Knicks made an attempt, but it doesn’t seem like they have. If the Knicks were intelligent enough, a move would have been made already, and Ewing would be an assistant coach.

Walsh, D’Antoni, whoever – get Ewing back to MSG, it’s where he belongs. The Knick fans would love to see him back home, he could help out the power forwards and future centers of the team and make them great, and he could be an overall force on the bench. Ewing would do wonders for the organization, so my recommendation is to get him back, and do whatever needs to be done to do it. Stan Van Gundy is right; it is shocking to see him somewhere else besides New York, so bring him back.
