As a former member of the Cup winning Boston Bruins, Michael Ryder had his day with Lord Stanley today, and following a parade through the streets of his hometown, Bonavista, Newfoundland, the newly acquired Dallas Stars forward held a send-off rally on top of a St. John’s hotel.

That probably wasn’t the best of ideas, as the 50 km/h winds were enough to knock the 35-pound Stanley Cup off balance. No word yet on whether the fall will land Lord Stanley on the I.R.

Here is a look at the fall.

No one seems to enjoy the Stanley Cup victory celebrations more than the young players on these championship teams. Who could forget Patrick Kane’s wild summer of 2010 after the Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup? When he wasn’t busy getting liquored up with the Cup at the Chicago clubs, Kane occupied himself by looking for the next woman he was going to take home to bed.

Now it appears as though Brad Marchand, 23, and Tyler Seguin, 19, of the Boston Bruins have taken over those duties. We have the photos to prove their non-stop partying, booze-drinking, chick-macking exploits ( see above and below). As for the part about taking women home to their beds, we have yet to find any images that can prove that, but we are almost certain they will come soon.

Marchand spent most of the finals beating up on the Sedin twins, but with the Cup back in Boston, he decided to dish out his final assault of the season on the ears of the Brunis fans in attendance after being called to the mic by linemate Patrice Bergeron. What followed was an embarrassingly painful display that likely had Bergeron regretting his decision.

For those with sensitive hearing, I’d advise you proceed with caution.

As a Canadian, I’m not quite sure what to make of this image. After all, here are all these other countries rioting and causing destruction for their freedom and revolution, while in Canada we start lighting sh*t on fire when one of our hockey teams losses Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals. Maybe we are simply trying to assert ourselves and let the world know that despite being labeled as “peacekeepers,” we can still ruffle a few feathers and cause some mayhem when we want to…

…Or maybe we just really like hockey that much.

When the Pittsburgh Penguins won the Cup two years ago, it was Petr Sykora unleashing the f-bomb during his Stanley Cup hoist. Last night it was Mark Recchi following in Sykora’s footsteps, as the only thing he could think of to sum up the feeling of winning it all was “f*cking right!”

Moments later Recchi announced that he had just played his final game in the NHL, as the 43-year-old is finally set to retire.

What a way to go out. “F*cking right” indeed Mark!

Much like the previous six games of the series, Tim Thomas was incredible in goal for the Boston Bruins, as he shut down the Canucks offense and brought Boston their first Stanley Cup since 1972, via a 4-0 victory. In addition to hoisting the Stanley Cup, Thomas also received the Conn Smythe trophy as the playoff M.V.P., and he may very well be the most deserving recipient of that honor over the past two decades.

Thomas led all goaltenders in every major statistical category throughout the playoffs, including save percentage (.940), goals against average (1.98), shutouts (4), and of course, wins (16). His best work came in the Finals, where he allowed only eight goals over the course of seven games, and recorded two shutouts. One of those shutouts came last night during the decisive Game 7, and it earned him the Stanley Cup, the Conn Smythe Trophy, and “The Stat Line of the Night” for Wednesday, June 15, 2011.

The 1993-94 season was a banner season for the New York Rangers. In addition to winning the Stanley Cup, they also won the Presidents trophy for having the best regular season record and set a franchise record with 112 points. Also, Madison Square Garden played host to the 45th annual NHL All-Star game where Rangers goaltender Mike Richter was named the game’s Most Valuable Player.

The Rangers cruised past the first two rounds of the playoffs, sweeping the Islanders and taking only five games to beat the Capitals. The Conference championship round was a different story as New York and New Jersey battled through a hard-fought seven game series, with the Rangers coming out on top. New York would go on to face Vancouver in the finals and beat them in a close seven game series.

Here are the final seconds of Game 7.

And then there was the NHL’s Western Conference Finals match-up between the Vancouver Canucks and the San Jose Sharks, which needed two overtime periods to find a winner after Ryan Kesler deflected home a Henrik Sedin shot with 14 seconds left in regulation to tie the game at 2-2.

As for the overtime winner, that would come off the stick of Canucks defenseman Kevin Bieksa after an Alex Edler dump-in took a strange bounce off a glass stanchion, which left everyone in the arena, including Bieksa, wondering what the heck had just happened. What did end up happening was the puck ricocheted straight to Bieksa, who slapped the puck past an unsuspecting Antti Neimi for the series-clinching goal.

Here is a look at Bieksa’s overtime winner, which helped send the Canucks to their first Stanley Cup Finals since 1994, and also brought back memories of Patrick Kane’s Cup-winning goal from last season.

TMZ Sports is really killing it lately with the behind the scenes coverage and asking all the tough questions. A couple weeks ago they caught Tiger Woods buying gum. Thrilling! Now, they have Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews walking into a Hollywood club with the Stanley Cup. Gasp! I guess you’ll get some of the bad mixed with the good — Jared Allen trying to fight somebody in a bar for calling his girlfriend the c-word, for example.

All was not completely anticlimactic, though. TMZ did ask Patrick Kane, who is quickly becoming a media favorite, if he was going to score with a lot of chicks since he was bringing the Cup inside the club. As if that’s not a rhetorical question, Kane humored the TMZ reporter anyway by responding, “I better.” Yeah, Patrick Kane better because the Stanley Cup has to be the easiest thing next to a roofie to get a chick to sleep with you.

At the end of the clip, TMZ asks some random girl if she thinks Kane will get “vagina” because he brought the Holy Grail to the club. She says she thinks so, but Kane beat her team (assuming that’s the Vancouver Canucks because she said she’s from Canada). Hey random girl, TMZ wasn’t asking if you’d hook up with him (and don’t kid yourself, you would), he was asking if other girls would.
