One female fan found that out the hard way, as she took one of Harris’ size 12 Adidas to the face during last night’s game at the Staples Center.

Watching two gorgeous women lock lips is about as good as it gets on the Kiss Cam.  Watching two men in their forties exchange regurgitated hot dog chunks with their mouths is probably just about as bad as it gets.

Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly provided us with a glimpse of the latter during Game 1 between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Dallas Mavericks last night at the Staples Center.  Unfortunately, this would not be the only horrific sight of the evening for Lakers fans, as their team would blow a nine-point halftime lead and lose the game by a score of 96-94.

Just when things appeared to have settled down following a scuffle between players from the Lakers and the Mavericks, a fan attempted to make his way onto the court as Lamar Odom was shooting free throws.  He had almost made it to the bottom of the steps in the lower level when he was intercepted by one of the red-coated security guards.  Several more came to help just seconds later, as the fan was escorted out of the arena.

Here is a look at the incident from two different angles.  Where were these guys during the World Cup?

Whether it was DeMar DeRozen’s “Showstopper”, JaVale McGee’s two ball dunk, Serge Ibaka’s jump from the free-throw line or Blake Griffin’s dunk over a car, there were plenty of highlight reel moments that brought the Staples Center crowd to their feet.  And if you thought those dunks were impressive in real-time, wait until you see them in slow motion.  It is bound to give you a whole new level of appreciation for each competitor’s leaping abilities.

Here are DeRozen, Griffin and McGee’s dunks in slow motion, courtesy of the NBA’s Phantom series.  And sticking with Saturday night’s theme, they have decided to ignore Ibaka’s performance, as if he wasn’t even there in the first place.

Bryant scored a game-high 37 points to go along with 14 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals.  He would get off to a hot start, scoring 21 of his points in the opening half.  Several of those points came off highlight reel dunks, as he helped the West get out to a 76-64 lead at the break.  They would eventually hold on to win by a score of 148-143, despite a final flurry from LeBron James that saw him complete the triple-double, with 29 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists.

The MVP was Kobe Bryant’s fourth of his career, tying him for the most All-Star Game MVP honors with Bob Pettit.  His Lakers have struggled lately, heading into the All-Star break losers of their last three in a row.  They currently sit in third in the Western Conference.  If they want to improve upon that position down the final stretch, they will need more great performance like this from Kobe, who earns our “Stat Line of the Night” for Sunday, February 20, 2011.

In case you haven’t heard yet, Blake Griffin dunked over a car at the 2011 Sprite Slam Dunk Contest, and the TNT camera crew almost missed it.

The Clippers’ high-flying rookie got off to a hot start with an incredible 360° two-handed tomahawk slam, but he stumbled on his second dunk, missing several times before throwing down a last second desperation dunk.  He would claw his way out of the first round in a rather undeserving fashion, but he made up for it with his final two dunks.  The first had Griffin bury his arm through the rim and hang, à la Vince Carter in 2000.

As for the clincher, Blake Griffin would bring out the big guns for that.

It started when the 2011 Kia Optima cruised out onto the court.  It was followed by members of the Crenshaw Select Choir, who sang “I Believe I Can Fly.”  And after all that build-up, it was Griffin’s turn to fly, as he leaped over the front hood of the car and threw down a Baron Davis threw-the-sunroof alley-oop with two hands.  That would earn him the 2011 Sprite Slam Dunk Contest Championship over the Washington Wizards’ JaVale McGee.

There were plenty of great dunks during this year’s competition.  Here is a look at five of them, beginning with Blake Griffin’s over-the-car slam.

DeMar DeRozen’s “Showstopper” dunk earned him a 50, but it wasn’t enough to put him into the final.

JaVale McGee dunked on two nets at once.  It only took him about ten chances.

The most underrated dunk of the night came from Serge Ibaka, who took off from beyond the free throw line.

As for the greatest thing about watching a Lakers game, we all know that is the Laker Girls.

Sometimes the Kiss Cam may provide us with the image of two incredibly hot women making out.  Other times we may be treated to the sight of rejection.  And then there is this…two male celebrities tongue-lashing each other on camera.

Jason Bateman and Dustin Hoffman were just two of the many celebrities in attendance for Game 1 of the NBA Finals last night at the Staples Center, and just as you would expect from any actor, when the camera was on them, they made the most of their moment together.

Before we anoint these two with the award for “greatest man-on-man sports-related kiss,” we should consider those who have locked lips before them.

Last night was Vince’s night of revenge, and he got at it early.  After an introduction to help inform anyone not familiar with what has happened, the Kroenke look-a-like came out to the jeers of the crowd.  He greeted David Stern, Jack Nicholson and Jerry Buss, who were also ringside in look-a-like form, then entered the ring and took the mic.  After a 2-minute rant, Vince McMahon makes his way to the ring and gets in a few insults of his own, including jabs at Kroenke’s lack business skills and his first name, “Enus”.  You could probably imagine where that went.

McMahon then accused the Nuggets owner of trying to push around the WWE and its fans.  That was when Vince finally pushed back, giving Kroenke a shot to the neck that would send him sprawling outside the ring.  The usualy WWE theatrics contiued with several other wrestlers coming out and taking their turn on the mic (including one dawning a LeBron jersey) until a fight broke out.

There was also a Nuggets vs. Lakers match as the main event of the night, won obviously by the Lakers.  It’s a shame that the basketball Lakers couldn’t pull out a similar result.  As a result, McMahon likely wasn’t the only one who had a “night of fun”.  It was Kroenke who had the final celebration last night.

Although they may not have been cheering for them, they were certainly there to enjoy the atmosphere that is Lakers games.  With the likes of Drew Barrymore, John Mayer, David Arquette, Spike Lee, Denzel Washington, Justin Timberlake, Larry David, Dick Van Dyke, and of course, Jack Nicholson.  So how did the Lakers respond to this?  How does a 105-103 win sound.

The Lakers game is always a haven for celebrities, but playoff time is a special occasion, especially this deep in.  While the series outcome remains in doubt, with the Lakers leading 1-0, one thing that you can bet on is that the stars will continue to show themselves, not only on the court, but in the stands as well.
