Christmas is right around the corner, and you know what that means: NFL cheerleading squads have busted out the Christmas themed uniforms. And not a moment too soon, because I think we were all getting pretty tired of looking at gorgeous cheerleaders in “everyday” skimpy outfits, weren’t we?

Okay, we weren’t really tired of the regular skimpy outfits. But we do really like the skimpy Christmas ones, too. So today we’re going to try to try to get everyone in the Christmas spirit with a countdown of the 15 best Christmas-themed cheerleader uniforms in the NFL.

We’d have done a countdown of the 20 best Christmas cheerleader uniforms, but not all squads have them. Heck, not all teams have cheerleaders. (Please, if you live in Chicago, Detroit, Green Bay, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, or New York, write your member of Congress.) So we did the best with what we’ve got. I think you’ll like it.

Enjoy.

With the outcome almost a certainty, an altercation broke out between a few fans in the stands, resulting in one woman being tackled by police and exposing her giant whale tail (the Y-shaped waistband of a thong or g-string when visible above the waistline of low-rise jeans, shorts, or a skirt), which you couldn’t miss even if you tried.

You can check it out in the video below, however, we should warn you that doing so could cause your lunch to make an unexpected reappearance.

Much like Marshawn Lynch’s 67-yard touchdown scamper during last year’s playoffs, we don’t believe it will be long before Blount’s incredible touchdown run from Sunday receives a Tecmo Bowl remake of its own.

Here is a look at what may very well be the touchdown of the year thus far.

During a break in the action, a man with no shirt made his way onto the field at Wembley Stadium and proceeded to sprint approximately 80 yards down the field towards the Bears’ end zone, as he high-fived players from both teams on the way before finally being tackled by security.

With LeGarrette Blount and Earnest Graham getting hit by the injury bug, perhaps the Bucs should consider signing this guy as their new feature running back.

Sure, haunted houses may be scary when you are 10-years-old and have yet to develop an understanding of how they work, but by the age of 20 you would think most individuals would be smart enough to realize that it is all fake…

Although, after watching the video below, I guess that isn’t always the case.

As Foster was trying to get to Bucs’ quarterback Josh Freeman for the sack, his ankle got caught under defensive end Tyler Brayton, resulting in a nasty-looking dislocation.

Several Colts and Buccaneers players huddled around the field, some in tears, as they watched in disbelief while the training staff looked after the 265-pound tackle. He was eventually carted off the field during an emotional scene that saw him urge on his teammates with tears running down his eyes.

Here is a look at the gruesome injury.

It was a career day for Blount that was capped off by an outstanding 48-yard fourth quarter run that saw him hurdle over Cards’ safety Kerry Rhodes before chugging all the way down to the 50-yard line.

After a controversial college career, and being undrafted, Blount had to leap many hurdles to make it to this position. On Sunday, Rhodes was just another one of those hurdles.

If the Bucs’ cheerleaders were trying to keep the Jacksonville Jaguars out of the end zone with this “goal line stand”, something tells me that they may want to think of a different strategy. After all, you would think that the sight of 15 gorgeous females in mini skirts and skimpy tops would only attract more males into the end zone, rather than keep them out.

However, on this day their strategy seemed to be quite effective as the Jags could only manage one touchdown on the night, while settling for four field goals. Unfortunately that was still enough to beat the lowly Bucs by a score of 19-13. Perhaps they should consider having the Bucs’ cheerleaders play some offense in their next game. I’d love to see their touchdown dance.

So how did he celebrate his return? By going out, getting plastered, driving drunk, and eventually falling asleep behind the wheel as his car, which was stopped in the middle of an intersection. If he was looking for a way to get himself kicked off the winless Bucs, he found it.

Taking a page from the book of former Lions first round pick Charles Rogers, Johnson was discovered passed out behind the wheel by Tampa Bay police. His car was in the middle of an intersection, and when he was awaken by officers they detected “a distinct odor of an alcoholic beverage from the defendant’s mouth, bloodshot/glassy eyes, and a noticeable sway upon standing unsupported.”

A field sobriety test was administered, and officers were lead to believe that Johnson was in fact impaired, but apparently he was not too drunk to know that he should refuse to take a breathalyzer test.

He was eventually arrested for DUI and has since been let go by his team. So what is worse? Spending a night in jail, or playing for the 0-7 Buccaneers? I would have to say the latter.

While my advice would be to start the players that are getting you the points you need week by week, no matter where you drafted them, your best bet is to stay away from potential busts altogether on draft day.

Here is a look at five guys who I believe may not end up being all that you think they are. Consider them the early favorites for 2009 “bust of the year”:

Steven Jackson, RB, STL : Jackson finds himself to be a high pick on many draft boards, but if you can, I would suggest staying away. He plays on a terrible Rams team that will often be playing from behind. That means limited rushing opportunities, and he hasn’t exactly been the healthiest guy either missing four games in each of the past two seasons. Also worth noting is that Jackson has only recorded over 10 touchdowns once in his five year career, back in 2006 when he had 15 total.

Matt Cassel, QB, KC : Matt Cassel was a pleasant surprise last year and a solid replacement for owners of fantasy stud Tom Brady. His 3693 yards, 21 touchdowns and 11 interceptions were so impressive that he was given a big contract by the Chiefs, but things aren’t going to be as bright in Kansas City. He will no longer have Randy Moss and Wes Welker to throw to and Bill Belichick calling the plays. To make things worse, there are already talks that he may not even have the starting job secure. A couple bad games and it could be Brodie Croyle under center for the Chiefs.

Joseph Addai, RB, IND : As quickly as he rose to the ranks of a top fantasy running back, Joseph Addai has fallen back down to reality. After an impressive 2007 campaign where he gained a total of 1436 yards and 15 total touchdowns, Addai was only able to come up with 750 yards and 7 touchdowns in 2008. He also suffered through injuries and with the Colts picking up Donald Brown with their first round pick, it could be time to look past this former top fantasy running back.

Brandon Marshall, WR, DEN : He has loads of skill, but many have questioned his attitude. While that may not hold Marshall back on the field, the addition of Kyle Orton at quarterback very likely will. Marshall has been a fantasy stud at wide receiver the past two seasons, posting over 100 catches each year and over 1250 yards as well, but don’t be surprised if he becomes ‘ second favorite option behind second-year man Eddie Royal.

Antonio Bryant, TB, WR : Antonio Bryant had a breakout season last year posting 1248 receiving yards and 7 TDs, and that has increased his value in the eyes of many owners, but don’t expect a repeat in 2009. Bryant will no longer have Jeff Garcia throwing to him and it doesn’t help his cause that he will be out for the remainder of the preseason and possibily the beginnig of the regular season with a knee injury.
