Skip Bayless would probably refer to himself as a “sports analyst.” However, most others would probably refer to the host of ESPN’s First Take as a “Douchebag.” Terrell Suggs did just that during his appearance on the show on Monday.

Following Billy Cundiff’s missed field-goal with only 15 seconds remaining in their AFC Championship Game against the New England Patriots, many of us were wondering how the likes of Ray Lewis, Ed Reed and Suggs felt about the disappointing conclusion to the Ravens’ season.

Bayless had the opportunity to discuss this with the latter, and this is how it went.

For those wondering, the incident that Bayless and Suggs were discussing occurred during the Ravens’ final set of downs at the conclusion of Sunday’s game.

After Anquan Boldin’s catch on 1st-&-10 deep in the Patriots’ zone, he fumbled the ball passed the first-down marker and out-of-bounds, but the ball can not be advanced by an offensive fumble out of bounds. As a result, the ball was spotted short of the first down, bringing up second down. However, the scoreboard in Gillette Stadium gave the Ravens the first down. This appeared to cause some confusion for kicker Billy Cundiff, who uses the stadium scoreboard to help him keep track of when he is supposed to make his way onto the field. Because the stadium scoreboard read”3rd down” when it was actually fourth down, Cundiff was late getting onto the field and was forced to rush his kick with the play clock winding down.

He would go on to miss the 32-yard game-tying chip shot, the Ravens would lose the game, Skip Bayless is still a douchebag, and the rest is history.

In a battle between two of the NFL’s most feared defenses, the Ravens came out ahead of the San Francisco 49ers, as they allowed only two field-goals against while intercepting one Alex Smith pass and recording nine sacks. Leading the way for the Ravens was none other than outside linebacker Terrell Suggs.

With Ray Lewis out of the line-up Suggs needed to step up and lead the Ravens defense. He did so in a big way, recording three tackles and three sacks, while forcing one fumble. The Ravens offense struggled throughout the first three quarters, but Suggs and the defense kept them in the game. That allowed Baltimore to come away with the 16-6 win, and Suggs comes away with “The Stat Line of the Night” for Thursday, November 24, 2011.

Right now Terrell Suggs has this for the Pittsburgh Steelers; a t-shirt of a raven with his middle finger pointed up in the air. On Saturday the Baltimore Ravens’ linebacker will hope to have something else for his division rivals; a loss.

The Ravens and the Steelers will meet for the third time this season at Heinz Field on Saturday in a highly anticipated AFC Divisional Round playoff match-up. As for Suggs’ anti-Pittsburgh t-shirt, this isn’t the only one he owns as we suspect he has a closet full of them. Unfortunately, they only come out when these two teams meet in the playoffs.

Terrell Owens. Who Ya Got?" href="http://www.totalprosports.com/blog/index.php/2009/09/rodney-harrison-vs-terrell-owens-who-ya-got/" target="_self">calling out Buffalo Bills receiver Terrell Owens, Rodney Harrison has set his sights on a new target, former teammate Tom Brady.

Following the Patriots victory over the Baltimore Ravens, much of the talk was surrounding a roughing the passer call made by officials after Terrell Suggs went low at Brady’s knee. Suggs barely made contact with Brady, but the reaction from the Pats quarterback was enough to draw the flag as well as some harsh criticism from Harrison.

When asked what he thought about the call, the former safety had the following to say on NBC’s Sunday night Football coverage:

“Horrible call. You can’t make this call. And Tom Brady, if you’re listening, take off the skirt and put on some slacks. Toughen up.”

Don’t expect a Twitter battle to break out over this one, although Brady may want to consider telling Harrison to give him back some of those Super Bowl rings if he continues with the trash talking.

The only league where stars go from signing 100 million dollar contracts, to jail (Michael Vick) and players who shoot themselves in the leg while at a night club (Plaxico Burress) a year from winning the Superbowl.

Looks like the Pittsburg Steelers have decided to be counterproductive on these fronts so they have arranged for a gun safety clinic for the players run by none other the the Pennsylvania State Police.

Why would millionaire athletes need gun safety when they could simply hire a body guard, maybe a security system in there house, or numerous other forms of safety that are simply had by throwing money at it. But the Steelers disagree, and in true NFL fashion, there is great contreversy. I guess that’s why Terrell Suggs hates the Steelers.

An anonymous source has emailed pictures of the said gun safety clinic featuring Steelers players, and regular civilians breaking every gun safety law in the book. No appropriate protection to the eyes and the ear, and playfully pointing these guns at one another in the name of a new Facebook picture.

“It’s a state police firing range used for state police to train. When we’re there, it’s downright military,” said one state police official, who requested anonymity. “But at this event, it’s chaos. Everybody’s throwing contraband assault weapons around like they’re toys; it’s like they’re having G.I. Joe tryouts. Not only is this totally unethical, but it’s totally illegal.”

If that wasn’t bad enough, many of the weapons used allegedly were taken from evidence and included automatic guns. You could understand cops from Pennsylvania may be inclined to do something a little extra for the guys that brought home the Vince Lombardi trophy but automatic weapons from evidence lockers used at an event where there were clearly cameras present? Not the smartest cops I’ve ever heard of.

The hatred between the two clubs should come as no surprise, being division rivals and having played each other three times last season. Feelings are likely stronger from the Ravens’ perspective, due to the fact that they were on the losing end of all three games last year, including a crucial AFC championship game that the Steelers would win on route to their sixth Super Bowl championship.

This is not the first time Suggs has publicly announced his dislike for the Steelers. In 2008 he hinted to the media that the Ravens had put a bounty on the head of Pittsburgh wideout Hines Ward.

Baltimore will go into the 2009 season once again as a Super Bowl contender. With Joe Flacco going into his second season as the team’s starting quarterback (and picking off frisbees in mid air with ease), the Ravens have the potential to move beyond the AFC championship game this year. However, if they expect to achieve such success they will need their play to do the talking, rather than their mouths and shirts.

He is not going to sign a long term contract with the team that drafted him, Peppers, a North Carolina native has spent his entire football career in that state as he attended the University of North Carolina.

His agent thinks that staying in Carolina would be best for Peppers because that is where his family currently resides, he was quoted saying,

“He loves the state of North Carolina. His family is there. The easier situation for him would be to stay in Carolina.” and “But the decision that he faced was, do I stay in Carolina and perhaps never reach my full potential? Or do I open myself to the possibilities to finish my career elsewhere? He chose the latter.”

We are not positive if this is the actual reason Julius wants out of Carolina, but if it is we have to agree that Peppers may flourish even more under a 3-4 defensive scheme. His athletic ability for a man that plays the defensive end position is truly extraordinary. If Peppers can hit the gym hard in the off season and shed 10 pounds he may be used in the same mold as Demarcus Ware or Terrell Suggs. These linebackers have redefined the position as they can also be thrown down in the three point stance and asked to rush the passer. The advantage Peppers has over these two great players is that he stands 3″ taller than them, I know scary thought!

The situation does get sticky in that the Panthers could put the franchise tag on Peppers which would virtually force him to stay, but if a team does go ahead and sign him they would have to send Carolina 2 first round draft picks. That is not the end of it, if a team does decide to sign Peppers, the Panthers could match and pay him max money 1 year deal worth $16.7 million.

Julius also made a statement to the media stating his reason for wanting to leave, he had this to say,

“I am seeking new challenges that will allow me to grow, develop and reach my personal potential on the football field,” and “I strongly feel that making a move at this time is in my best interest. I appreciate the entire Panthers organization and am thankful for the seven seasons I’ve spent with the team.”

Now that we know what Julius Peppers wants lets analyze where he would fit in nicely, lets take a look at teams that run the 3-4 defensive scheme and are in need of an athlete like Julius Peppers.

1. San Francisco 49ers - With Patrick Willis having a break through season that defense would be greatly improved with the addition of Peppers. I am sure that Peppers would also appreciate playing under another defensive minded coach, Mike Singletary may have been the epitome of defense in his playing days.

2. Miami Dolphins – We know that he would enjoy that warm Florida sun and the Miami Dolphins would love to have him. Joey Porter really took a leadership role in that locker room and field this year, the addition of a positive energy like the one Peppers brings could do wonders down south.

3. Pittsburgh Steelers – Although the Steelers do not need anymore defensive help it is nice to imagine what could be.

4. Baltimore Ravens - Terrell Suggs, Ray Lewis, Bartt Scott, Julius Peppers, I got visions of a record setting defense for 2009. The defense under Ray Lewis is already as intense a group of players as any roster in football.

5. San Diego Chargers – Shawne Merriman on one side of the line of scrimmage and Julius Peppers on the other, quarterbacks may never get the ball down the field.

6. New England Patriots – We do not know if New England has the cap room for a contract like the one Peppers will demand, but could you imagine the endless possibilities?

7. Dallas Cowboys – Similar to the San Diego Chargers, the Dallas Cowboys already have one great outside linebacker, the addition of Peppers would be a scary proposition to opponents quarterbacks.

Where do you think Julius Peppers could or would go?
