Torii Hunter Gets Stuck In Oxygen Tent And Pees In Gatorade Bottle

Los Angeles Angels right fielder Torii Hunter is an all-around great guy and a big tweeter. But before you head on over to Twitter and start following this baseball star, be warned: sometimes he shares a little too much information.

Last night after a particularly exhausting 7-3 loss against the AL West rival Texas Rangers, Hunter decided to grab his iPad and take up residence in the team oxygen tent to sooth and rejuvenate his aching bones. Sounds reasonable, right? Well apparently, when you use an oxygen tent, someone has to zip you in and out, because around 6pm yesterday Torii issued the follow tweet to the world:

I guess he went into the tent, then everyone went out to eat or something. We can’t say for sure. All we know is what Hunter tweeted next:

Yep, that’s right. The man couldn’t hold it so, according to him, he peed in a Gatorade bottle.

Luckily, someone eventually came to Hunter’s rescue, at which point he issued his last tweet concerning the whole ordeal:

Yikes. Torii, you’re a cool dude, but TMI, man. TMI.

Torii Hunter Will Return Your Glasses For Free (Video)

Currently playing out the fourth year of his five-year, $90,000,000 contract, it is probably safe to say that Los Angeles Angels outfielder Torii Hunter is doing alright from a financial standpoint. It should therefore come as no surprise to find out that Hunter is not interested in stealing your glasses. And if you offer him a reward after he returns them, he isn’t interested in the money either.

Those watching the Angels take on the Yankees last night witnessed that first hand after a fan seated along the outfield wall dropped his glasses onto the playing field. Hunter was not only kind enough to return the glasses to the Yankees fan, but he also refused to accept the monetary reward that was offered to him.

Watch Torii Hunter Leap Over The Right-Field Wall And Crash Into An Old Man (Video)

The Los Angeles Angels Torii Hunter has appeared on plenty of highlight packages in his career, making incredible catches in the outfield before crashing into the wall. During Saturday’s game against the New York Yankees, he tried to provide us with another spectacular play. Unfortunately for him, he not only failed to make the catch on a Robinson Cano home run, but he also misjudged his location, causing him to soar over the short right-field fence at Angel Stadium and into an elderly fan.

Oddly enough, the elderly man that cushioned Hunter’s fall was a Yankee fan. As he was chasing down the long fly ball, Hunter believed he was in the area of the park with a higher outfield fence, but it wasn’t long before both he and the fan realized that wasn’t the case.

The home run by Cano made it 1-0 for the Yankees. Alex Rodriguez would add a two-run shot in the 6th inning, which was way too far out of Hunter’s reach for him to make an attempt on it, giving the Yanks the 3-2 win.

Paul Konerko Makes Incredible Behind-The-Back Play To End The Ball Game (Video)

Last year Mark Buehrle hooked up with Paul Konerko for an incredible through-the-legs out at first base that would end up being one of the greatest plays of the year.

It appears as though Paul Konerko has once again teamed up with a White Sox pitcher for another “Play of the Year” candidate. Only difference is that this time it was Konerko working some behind-the-back magic with reliever Matt Thornton for the third out in the 10th inning of last night’s game between the Sox and the Angels.

After Chicago took a two run lead in the top of the 10th, Thornton retired Bobby Abreu and Maicer Izturis for the first two outs in the bottom of the inning. Next up was Torii Hunter, who tried to get on base and put the tying run at the plate with a bunt. He seemed to have done just that, as the ball bounced directly between first base and the pitcher’s mound, but a quick behind-the-back flip from Konerko allowed Thornton to beat out Hunter at first and end the ball game.

It was Thornton’s first save of the season, and he certainly deserved it after this heads-up play.

Torii Hunter’s Pre-Swing Jerking

Total Pro Sports – Most baseball players have a pre-at bat ritual that they perform before stepping into the batters box. David Ortiz’s spitting in the gloves and clapping is popular among Sox fans, and who could forget Nomar Garciaparra’s ten minute glove shuffling routine. But Angels outfielder Torii Hunter may have the best form of “relief” prior to taking his pitches.

I’m not sure if this is a usual thing for Hunter, or if he has decided to try something new, or maybe he knew that the camera would be in a perfect position to capture him ”feeding the ducks”, but if it works, then it works. One thing is for sure. You should never mess with a batter’s pre-swing rituals. We understand that they can be a very superstitious bunch.
