This image not only captures the sexiness of the athlete, but it also gives us all an idea of the skill and precision that goes into each jump during a high-jump competition.  The jumper in this case appears to have cleared the bar easily on this attempt.  And if her eyes are any indication, it appears as though she already has her sights set on an even bigger jump for her next attempt.

An invisible hurdle, a ghost on the track and an shock bracelet around her ankle were a few of the possibilities I managed to come up with, but I think I am going to have to go with the sniper in the bushes as the best possible explanation out there.  And it appears as though the people at GorillaMask had the same idea in mind, judging by their remix of the incident (see the second video below).

Here is an image of a sprinter sustaining what we suspect would be the most painful track-and-field injury ever.  I am not even sure how one would end up in such a precarious position.  I guess when your body can’t quite keep up with your legs, these kinds of things happen.  I wonder how long the medics took to unravel him.

That’s right!  Four of the fastest men in the NFL may be spending their lockout season sprinting past the competition, much like they are accustomed to doing while playing football.

The Kansas City Chiefs’ Jamaal Charles tweeted this message to the Eagles’ DeSean Jackson, the Titans’ Chris Johnson and the Vikings’ Adrian Peterson.  We’re still waiting on their response, but if this dream does become a reality, I can’t wait to see them take on the team of Michael Vick, Devin Hester, Jacoby Ford and Percy Harvin.

Typical males.  They couldn’t have picked themselves a more opportune time to snap a picture of this female track & field competitor.  Whether she just won gold in record time, or suffered the most embarrassing of defeats, I don’t really think it matters to these four creepy photographers.  A shot of her rear is what they wanted, and a shot of her rear is what they got.

I am not quite sure what this guy just won, or lost, but it appears as though he would like to have a moment with himself…and the inside of his sweat-filled t-shirt.

This could be one of those cases where the camera just so happened to take a picture at the perfect moment, or maybe holding his shirt over his head is just the way this guy celebrates.  Whatever the case may be, we wont discriminate against the way others choose to bask in the glory of their victory.  Like they say, “to each their own.”

Coming down the final stretch, the man in the red knew he didn’t have the legs to keep up with the guy in the white.  So he did what any sore loser would do; give your opponent a smack in the back of the head as he zips by you and heads towards the finish line.

Perhaps this is how Jesus used to perform his miracles way back when in the mean streets of Jerusalem.  Stick your arm down your shirt, tell people you can make your missing arm reappear, and voila!  You have yourself a miracle and hundreds of new followers!

After taking a look at this image, I can’t help but ask, “Is this sexy?”  To some, maybe it is!  After all, not everyone likes a slim woman with a tight stomach and slender legs.  Some prefer a woman with a little more meat on her.  What’s the phrase again?…”More cushion for the pushin’”?

So do those extra handles to grab onto make this female athlete sexy?  You may not think so, but somewhere there is someone who would strongly disagree.

Yesterday, Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) turned 25, which makes everyone over 30 feel really, really old. Here at TPS, rather than rue the march of time, we have decided to embrace it with this list of the 25 best NES sports games. While modern games have rendered many of these titles unplayable due to their simplistic nature, all the titles below still hold a soft spot in our hearts. Even if it’s because of that one time that we chucked the controller at our little brother for being a little bitch in “Tecmo Bowl.”

25. Golf

Golf never got much of a chance to shine on the NES, due to low processing power that couldn’t off much in the way of intricacies, and graphics that didn’t exactly allow for the majesties of the different courses. But the original offered the best game-play, perhaps because it was developed in house to suit the strengths of the NES.

24. RBI Baseball

Never underestimate the importance of REAL PLAYERS on the roster. This game didn’t have the best game play, but R.B.I. and it’s sequels were iconic cause they brought the baseball stars into the game. Ironically, that wasn’t even something “Baseball Stars” was able to do.

23. Dodgeball

One of the most fun games on the NES, Dodgeball was a departure from actual sport, pitting geographic stereotypes against each other. The highlight of the game was the strategy and arsenal of throws at your disposal. Simple, but more fun than virtually every game on the list.

22. Ice Hockey

Speaking of simple, this game found a way to suck the fun out of playing hockey. But was more than redeemed by presenting players the ability to customize their team with fat, skinny, and medium guys. It sounds stupid, but strategy in team assembly was everything.

21. Blades of Steel

A definite step up, this was perhaps the only relevant hockey game around until EA’s NHL series came out on the 16-bit systems. Still not perfect, but got a generation of kids interested in hockey before the expansion. Plus, you could control the fights, which was awesome.
