Cook was clearly unaware of the sex of the individual hidden beneath the costume of the Orange Bowl mascot, but when he was informed by reporters of the fact that Obie was a female during a post-game interview, you can see a look of remorse develop instantly on his face. Apparently, Cook has no problem assaulting defenseless mascots, unless, of course, they are females.

Luckily for both Cook and Obie, no one was injured during the incident and the two of them were able to hug it out after the game. You can check out their reconciliation in the video below.

However, the fact that he did makes this video that much easier to watch without feeling guilty about it.

The boy on the right should be able to get at Erin when she is still looking good in her mid-thirties. As for the kid on the left, he might not be all that intrigued by Erin’s looks when she turns 44 in eleven years. I’d suggest he waits until his 18th birthday to see what kind of younger hotties ESPN hires to patrol the sidelines on gameday.

Michigan State disappointed last week as they were on the wrong end of Notre Dame’s much-anticipated ‘breakout game.’ Thankfully, we had both Oklahoma and Stanford to cover in Saturday’s evening slate. That resulted in us coming out on top for the second week in a row to open the season. This week’s NCAA schedule has three match-ups between Top 25 teams. We have predictions for two of them, as we see the favorites coming out on top in each of our picks for this week.

Here is a look at those favorites.

Game: #2 LSU @ #16 West Virginia
Pick: LSU -5.5
Reason: LSU will face yet another tough test as they take on their third ranked opponent in four games. Their previous two saw them beat then-No.3 Oregon at a neutral field in the opening week, and No. 25-ranked Mississippi State last Thursday. They will once again be faced with a tough task as they take on No. 16 West Virginia at Mountaineer Field. WVU has a strong offense, but so did Oregon and Mississippi and we saw what happened to them. There is no reason to believe that the same wont happen to the Mountaineers on Saturday. Look for the Tigers’ defense to silence a raucous home crowd once again, and the return of wide receiver Russell Sheppard should help their offense do enough to get the win and the cover.

Game: Missouri @ #1 Oklahoma
Pick: Oklahoma -19.5
Reason: After beating UConn by 28 and Tulsa by 23, Oklahoma had their first real test of the 2011 season, and they passed it with flying colors, beating Florida State by a score of 23-13. Besides a convincing 69-0 victory over Western Illinois, Missouri hasn’t looked too sharp, losing to Arizona State and beating Miami of Ohio by a score of 17-6. The Sooners showed that in addition to having a potent offense with a few Heisman hopefuls, they also have a stout defense that is capable of stopping the best of them. Missouri surely isn’t the best of them, and they will struggle mightily at Memorial Stadium on Saturday night, losing by more than three touchdowns.

Game: #11 Florida State at #21 Clemson
Pick: Clemson -2.5
Reason: With a 2.5-point spread, we are basically being asked who we believe will win this game. Our answer to that question is Clemson. Not only did the Seminoles get beat by Oklahoma last weekend, but they also suffered a barrage of injuries. In addition to losing a few of their wide receivers, the Noles could also be without starting quarterback EJ Manuel, who sprained his non-throwing shoulder. Clemson has covered the spread in five of the last six meetings between these two teams and they are coming off an impressive 38-24 come-from-behind victory over Auburn. Look for them to keep the momentum going as they kick off their ACC schedule with a victory.

Last Week’s Record: (2-1), 2011 Record: (4-2)

Something tells me that these two guys grew up on the same street, went to the same elementary and high school, were recruited together by West Virginia, sleep in the same dorm room, play beside one another on the defensive line, and always make sure they are seated next to each other on the bench when the offense is on the field.

Of course, No. 92 Dingle should always be seated on the left side of No. 93 Berry. After all, “Berry-Dingle” just doesn’t have the same ring to it.

He was great as a college QB over the last couple of years, but it seems that he lacks the size to compete at the next level. Thanks to innovative new offenses such as the Wildcat, I feel that White will have a place in the league. I have always liked watching him play at West Virginia and I hope he has a great career as a pro. His effectiveness as an NFL player could hinge on which team picks him up in the draft. Lets take a look at the best possible scenarios for White:

Miami Dolphins: The originators of the Wildcat offense would be the best fit for this guy. They are also very thin at receiver, which could make White even more appealing. Having White, Ronnie Brown, and Chad Pennington all on the field at the same time could be great for this young team.

Houston Texans: The Texans have Steve Slaton, White’s former Virginia teammate, a reunion of these two players could work in the NFL. Also some help for Andre Johnson is needed in the Texans offense. I like Owen Daniels and Kevin Walter, however the presence of White could take the offense to the next level.

Cincinnati Bengals: The Bengals could potentially lose both T.J. Houshmandzadeh and Chad Johnson this year, so why not take a chance on this guy.

Chicago Bears: Another team with a serious lack of depth at the receiver position. Besides if they draft him he could probably be the starting QB on this team because Kyle Orton and Rex Grossman stink.

Detroit Lions: Why not?

If you try to find him these days it will not be on a basketball court, rather he has turned pro in another field. Kevin or Mr. Pittsnogle as his young students refer to him, is a middle school teacher in his home town.

Four years removed from playing college ball at WVU, Pittsnogle has a dream to one day play basketball again. He was an All-American in his senior year and averaged 19.3 points per game and led West Virginia to the 2006 regional semifinals, he was anticipating being drafted but was not selected. The fans loved him, the town adored him and opponents dreaded guarding him, so what is the reason Kevin Pittsnogle is not playing in the NBA?

To speculate on this question would be wrong so all we will do is state what we know about Kevin Pittsnogle. He lives an ordinary life with his wife and two children in Martinsburg, WV, he volunteers his time to a local high school basketball team, bowls 3 nights a week and can occasionally be found at the Bingo hall. These are not the thrills that Pittsnogle expected, however, he makes the best of his situation, he has had a lot of success in the gym but it is in the classroom where he mentors young children. His motto is “You are who you choose to be,” as he instills this philosophy into his special education students giving them their opportunity to live their dreams. There is little doubt as to the heart that Pittsnogle has, his story is inspiring, but many fans would like to see him playing, even though he is influencing lives in the classroom.

Kevin Pittsnogle reminds me of many players that have had success in the NBA, names like Todd McCullough, Brian Scalabrine, Arvydas Sabonis and Sam Perkins. Kevin deals with a thyroid condition that slows his metabolism and explains the reason he cannot keep his weight down, however, he is now on medication and may attempt to make a run at an NBA career. All a player can do is work hard and hope that an organization gives them an opportunity, Pittsnogle will be no different and if it does not pan out, then he will return home and live a successful life teaching his students.
