But as exciting as the actual game was, it simply couldn’t live up to the action that the CFL delivered on Friday during their Legends Luncheon, which featured a fight between two 73-year-old former players; Angelo Mosca and Joe Kapp.

While playing against one another during the 1963 Grey Cup, Mosca’s Tiger-Cats came away with a victory over Kapp’s BC Lions, however, many believed Hamilton’s win was largely the result of a cheap hit by Mosca that knocked Lions running back Willie Fleming out of the game. A replay of the hit was shown during the luncheon. That was followed by Kapp offering Mosca a flower in an effort to bury the hatchet, but rather then ending their feud, it only seemed to revive it as the two began swinging their fists and canes before eventually being broken apart.

Mosca and the Tiger-Cats may have gotten the better of Kapp and the Lions back in ’63, but it was Kapp who appeared to come away on top of this battle. It looks like this was an all-around winning weekend for the BC Lions players, both old and new.

Here is a look at the brawl that broke out during the CFL Legends Luncheon.

The National Football League returned to action as they kicked off their 2011 regular season yesterday, and while their players may be bigger, stronger and faster than those playing in the Canadian Football League, it doesn’t necessarily mean that they hit harder. Just ask Winnipeg Blue Bombers quarterback Buck Pierce, who was (<a title="Blue Bombers’ Buck Pierce Gets Jacked Up!
Pierce was somehow able to remain in the game, despite being decleated and having his helmet knocked off his head. What is even more impressive is the fact that he was able to lead his team to the 24-16 victory, despite trailing by a score of 16-9 at the time of the hit.

Looks like the Bombers should thank Johnson for delivering a much needed, and awfully painful, wake-up call.

During the Winnipeg Blue Bombers’ last home game, fans in the stands used empty beer cups to manufacture a beer cup snake which reached hundreds of feet in length. Not only was it the longest of its kind, but it appears as though it will be the last:

“When the shower of cups came down, we know for a fact that some people were hit with them. Some cups were empty, maybe numerous cups together, some even had contents coming from the upper deck,” Blue Bomber president Jim Bell said Wednesday.

Some fans were cut by the flying plastic.

As a result, the club is now adopting a zero-tolerance policy for thrown objects, drunken behaviour and boozy serpents.

“If there is any hint of the beer snake, for example, gaining momentum, we are going to ask our security people to have those fans please discontinue it and we expect that we will get their respect.”

Fans who refuse will be escorted out of the building, Bell added. [TSN.ca]

It looks like the Creative Canadian Football League has adopted the NFL’s No-Fun-League attitude. And with that being said, here is a look at what will likely be the last CFL beer-cup snake ever created.

How utterly boring is Canadian football? This is how boring it is– they don’t even fight in the stands, they stack cups together like it’s clean up time at a preschool.

Do these people need a Doug Flutie Appreciation Night or what? They need something, that’s for sure. Or maybe the game needs something. This looks to be at a Winnipeg Blue Bombers game, appropriate I guess because most of these people are surely bombed. Maybe Canada has gone all green and they were just helping the clean-up crew and getting some recycling done.

So CFL fans stack cups. World Cup fans blow on these ridiculous, annoying things. But — they have fans that look like this. I’d say that the CFL needs some better fan promotions. Like stack 1000 cups and get a ticket to a real football game. Just kidding. Go Edmonton Eskimos! That’s a team, right?

During Sunday’s game between the Ti-Cats and the Blue Bombers, Markeith Knowlton returned an interception for a Hamilton touchdown, and as you would expect the boys were at it again.

A boat was parked in the back of the end zone and the Tiger-Cat players all hopped aboard. A couple of them sat back and caught some rays while a few of the others decided to take out their fishing rods and get in a couple of casts. It was just another fun day in the sun for Hamilton as they helped their quarterback Kevin Glenn get revenge on his former team with a 39-17 victory that would prevent Winnipeg from making the 2009 CFL playoffs.

As for the Tiger-Cats, they are riding that wave into a first round match up with the BC Lions at home this upcoming Weekend.

Total Pro Sports - The New England Patriots laid a beating to the Arizona Cardinals 47-7 in a blizzard. After scoring a touchdown Wes Welker decided it was only fitting to do a snow angel in the end zone. Welkers technique is just fabulous, his consistent arm strokes and leg stokes flow perfectly. All you kids out there who missed it you should watch the video. It’s a perfect way how to create the perfect snow angel.

Wes Welker was flagged on the play and will probably be getting fined by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell. This is not the first time a Patriots player was flagged and fined for extensive celebration in the end zone this season. A couple of weeks ago it was Ben Watson showed his love for his pregnant wife after putting the football under his jersey in a baby-on-the-way celebration. He was handed down with a $10,000 fine, We Welker could expect the same for his snow angel celebration.

We don’t understand how such a rule could be ever implemented in the NFL and players fined $10,000 for just having some fun. In a way they are just making the game a little more exciting and marketable to the world. Roger Goodell should loosen up a bit and allow celebrations after a touchdown.

Just look at the CFL and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, their celebrations are some of the best in the league. Some days well just watch the Blue Bombers just for their end zone celebrations. The NFL should follow suit and allow end zone celebrations only fining players who are offensive.
