Kim Clijsters Provides Us With The Luckiest Tennis Point You Will Ever See (Video)

Roger Federer may be the master of making the most incredible/impossible shots on a tennis court, but here is one shot that he couldn’t make. Not even in one million attempts.

During the third set of her third-round match at the French Open against 20-year-old Arantxa Rus of Holland, Kim Clijsters returned a serve that somehow bounced off the top of the net, before hitting the top of the pole and bouncing in. It was probably the luckiest point that the second-seeded Clijsters has ever won in her career. However, that luck would be short-lived, as she would go on to lose the match to Rus in three sets, 6-3, 5-7, 6-1.

Here is a look at Clijsters’ lone bright spot during her third-round loss at the French Open. She sure could have used more points like this one.

Could this be tennis’ next great set of boobs? Serena Williams Threatens Line Judge “I Would Kill You” [Video]

Total Pro Sports – After seeing a man run onto the court to give Rafael Nadal a kiss following his quarterfinals victory over Gael Monfils, I thought we had seen the best/worst of this year’s US Open tournament. I was wrong. Dead wrong!

Last night’s semifinals match between Serena Williams and Kim Clijsters was the epitomy of craziness as the game ended in the most unusual fashion after Serena was penalized on match point, costing her the game, set, and match. After already receiving a code violation warning for breaking her racket after losing the first set, Williams was serving 5-6, 15-30 in the second. She faulted on her first serve and on her second attempt was called for a foot foul by the line judge. That cost her a crucial point at an important part of the game as Clijsters was now one point away from advancing to the finals. Serena responded to the call in a rather inaffable manner, making her way over to the line judge to shout and curse at her as she waved her racket and ball in disgust.

Dropping the f-word liberally, Williams said, “I swear to God I’m [expletive] going to take this [expletive] ball and shove it down your [expletive] throat, you hear that? I swear to God.” [ESPN]

The line judge was then called over by the chair umpire and after a breif discussion, the tournament referee Brian Earley was called onto the court. The boos rained down from the crowd making it difficult to hear the conversation taking place. Williams then made her way over to tell her side of the story as she stated to the line judge, “Sorry, but there are a lot of people who’ve said way worse.”

After the line judge said something else to Earley, Serena responded by saying “I didn’t say I would kill you. Are you serious? I didn’t say that.” The line judge responded by saying “yes” as she shook her head. Serena was peanalized on match point for her second conduct infraction and the game was over with Clijsters recording the 6-4, 7-5 victory and now moving on to the finals.

This is bound to be the story of the tournament, unfortunately overshadowing the excellent performance by Clijsters in her return to women’s tennis. She will now go on to face Danish sensation Caroline Wozniacki in Sunday’s final.

As for Serena, we can’t help but agree with her comment that worse things have been said. That is not only the case within the game of tennis, but outside it as well. When you think about it, at least she didn’t decide to chase the umpire around the court, attempting to trip and beat her like those soccer nuts. Heck, even baseball manager Ron Gardenhire must have said worse things to home plate umpire Adrian Johnson, and he didn’t even get ejected. Instead, he got the call changed in his favour.

That was not the case for Serena this time, but you can only assume fear will strike the line judge that sees her commit her next foot foul. Not just any fear, but fear for her life!

Total Pro Sports – For those of you who have visited the fair before only to be tricked by a carny into playing a game you can’t win, don’t be embarrassed. Even the best sometimes become victims of the quick, slick carnies. Look no further than female tennis superstar Serena Williams.

This video which was found on Serena’s website, SerenaWilliams.com, shows her at the carnival playing “Ring The Bell”. She tries to get the carny to give her an extra attempt, or two, but as we all know, there is no fooling a carny. She gives it three attempts, but fails on all three.

Serena seemed a bit sluggish as she swung the mallet for each attempt. Maybe Jason Whitlock was on to something, although we doubt her slimmer sister Venus would have fared much better.

I wonder if she had the chance to visit the world’s strongest vagina in the “freakshow” exhibit afterward.

She Did It! Simona Halep’s Breasts Are Gone!

Total Pro Sports – Well the fantasy is officially over. The tennis world has lost two of its brightest upcoming stars. The left and right breasts of Simona Halep.

After the big breasted 17-year-old Romanian tennis player was discovered earlier this year within the sports blogging world, she would soon state her plans to reduce her 34DD breasts. Even after pleas from many fans and another big-breasted athlete, Alena Schurkova, Halep set her date to take her chest size down a couple of notches in hopes of improving her already solid tennis game.

Now Simona is left to hope that her decision goes as planned. She was already headed towards stardom dur to her breasts. Now that she has abandoned that route, she will have only her game to rely on now.

Pics have been revealed of the young star following her surgery, or at least the pics have been claimed as such. It was originally stated that she would undergo the procedure in the fall and there is still no official word that she has actually had the surgery. These pics may just be from her pre-big-breast-growth days, but for now we will assume that the dream is dead.

Tennis To Begin Penalizing Grunters

Total Pro Sports – It is one of the more unusual parts of the game. Men and Women of the tennis world who feel the need to grunt at each swing of the racket. Hockey players do not grunt when taking shots or delivering hits. Baseball players don’t do it when pitching or hitting. Basketball players refrain from grunting while shooting. So why are tennis players so inclined to making such orgasmic music while on the court?

Whatever the answer is, the International Tennis Federation is not buying it. Reports indicate that they are considering the possibility of penalizing players whose grunting may be deemed a distraction to opposing players. This comes off off the heals of Michelle Larcher de Brito’s incident at the French Open with Aravane Rezai, who complained to judges about the loud noises of her opponent. The penalty for such infractions would be the loss of points during the match.

Many of the accused grunters, a list which also includes Maria Sharapova in addition to Lancher de Brito, were part of Nick Bollettieri’s academy in Florida, although he insists he does not train his players to grunt, stating the following:

“My staff and I have never taught grunting. We have always taught the proper way to breathe in and out. Players grunt because it helps them release energy and keep focused. It is something that they do naturally. It isn’t something that is done deliberately to hurt their opponents.” [Daily Mail]

Sharapova is the loudest grunter on tour at 101 decibels. Pretty loud when you consider a lion’s roar to be 110 decibels. There is no record of Larcher de Brito’s grunt, but I would assume it is louder than the 110 put up by the lion. Just listen for yourself.

Tennis is looking to get rid of such distractions, but if that is the case, maybe they should consider doing something about the large breasts some of the women on the tour possess. Having those fun bags bounce up and down in the background as one is trying to concentrate on the ball can make things extremely difficult. Yes Simona Halep, we are looking at you!

The saga continues for this 17-year-old tennis star as her large breasts continue to get enormous amounts of publicity. First she revealed her plans to get breast reduction surgery, then such plans became all to real as it was reported that she had scheduled a date with the hospital. Now tennis fans and breast fans alike are showing their support for Simona’s sweater-puppets by beginning a facebook group which is against the breast reduction surgery. I wonder if Alena Schurkova is a member of the group yet?

How this will affect her decision remains unknown. As of now (Momnday, April 15, 2009 @ 1:30pm) there are 798 members of this group. The goal is one million, as stated in the group name, “Juntemos un millon de firmas para que SIMONA HALEP no se reduzca los senos” (Together a million signatures for Simona Halep not to reduced her breasts). Alena Schurkova: “Simona Halep You Can Be A Champion With Big Boobs”

Total Pro Sports – In the continuing saga that is Simona Halep’s 34DD breasts, a possible savior may have just turned up in the nick of time. That savior is none other than Alena Schurkova, the size 32E former volleyball star.

The rising 17-year-old tennis star has received a lot of attention because of her busty figure. The focus on her then increased when she announced her intentions to reduce her breast size just over a week ago. Late last week, reports indicated that she had booked her date for surgery in the fall. Why did she decide to do such a thing? Halep responded with the following:

“The breasts make me uncomfortable when I play. It’s the weight that troubles me – my ability to react quickly.”

At that point many had thought all hope was lost, but here comes Alena Schurkova to the rescue. Alena was South Africa’s top seeded volleyball player at one time, and has stated that such a decision for Simona would do more harm than good:

“If she does this it sends out the message that girls with big boobs can’t play sports and that is just wrong. I am 32E and I have never found them to be a problem. To be honest I wouldn’t mind having bigger boobs. I could be double what I have and I would still be OK to perform. I do a lot more explosive movements than her, throwing myself around on the beach volleyball court, so I don’t really understand the argument that it’s restrictive having bigger breasts.” [TheSun]

She also mentioned the negative effect that such a layoff could pose to the young star at this point in her career:

“There will definitely be a long lay-off for recovery. Compared to Breast Augmentation, reduction is rather invasive and severe. With that long lay-off her fitness level will go down, no question about it. So time lost on court and getting back to fitness could harm her career more than having big breasts.”

Alena would also point to another female tennis player, Serena Williams, as proof that breasts need not be an obstacle in one’s game. Instead, all that is really needed is a “good support bra.”

It will now be interesting to see if Simona Halep takes this sound advice. Alena makes a valid point when using herself and Serena Williams as examples. She maybe should have also mentioned the publicity that giant “sweater-puppets” can get you, although that perhaps is something Simona may have already figured out herself. An unknown for her tennis skills, the name “Simona Halep” has begun to grow ever more popular, and being ranked 315th in the world, we don’t suppose that has anything to do with what she has done on the court thus far.

Make us proud Simona. Make the right decision and play with what you parents gave you. In a sports world that is being overrun by performance enhancing drugs and other artificialities, it is time for someone to step up and become the poster child for “staying natural.” You can be that someone!

Total Pro Sports – There is likely no better way to sell the game of tennis to males than by having a female in a short skirt shriek and moan loud enough to be heard three courts over (well maybe just one better way: Simona Halep). Sadly, that moaner is Michelle Larcher de Brito, a 16-years-old native of Portugal. This minor’s sexually suggestive performance at this year’s French Open has both players and fans up in arms.

Larcher de Brito was eliminated by Aravane Rezai in the third round of this year’s tournament, but not before creating some controversy. During the match, Rezai complained about the noises being made by her opponent, even asking for a referee to come to the court and settle the matter. Larcher de Brito was warned, but no further action was taken. The fans were also critical of her excessive noise, booing her at the conclusion when it looked as though she would refuse to shake her opponents hand.

During coverage of the game, an interview with Lancher de Brito was televised where she responded to a question regarding her grunting. She attributes it to her aggressiveness and hard fighting. Sounds pretty aggressive to me.
