Thankfully, Moore was able to rotate his body while in the air, causing him to land on his back and avoid any serious injuries. The fall still appeared to be a painful one, but Colten was able to shake it off in time to claim the gold medal in the competition, beating out Joe Parsons and his very own brother, Caleb Moore, who finished in second and third, respectively.

Here is a look at the fall than nearly prevented Moore from reaching the top of the podium.

Burke passed away on January 19th of this year following a tragic accident while training for the X-Games on the Park City Mountain Resort Eagle superpipe in Park City, Utah. She will always be considered a pioneer for superpipe skiing (she helped make it an Olympic event, beginning in 2014) and was beloved by all of her fellow competitors.

Many of those competitors, along with family, friends and fans of Sarah, took to the slopes last night to honor the passing of one of the most influential women to ever take part in the X-Games. You can watch the ceremony in the video below.

Described as a race that not only tests the speed and skill of a rider, but also their toughness and endurance, there was plenty of the latter two traits on display during the women’s final, but little of the first two. That was evident after one look at the highlights (or should we call them “lowlights”), as these females struggled mightily to stay on their bikes, falling at just about every turn during this 10-lap race.

In the end, 24-year-old Maria Forsberg would do the least amount of falling on her way to the gold medal. As for the rest of the competitors, as well as the X-Games organizers, they may want to erase this competition from their memories as soon as possible.

Here is a look at the lowlights from the women’s Enduro X finals. Enjoy it while you can because I wouldn’t expect to see this competition on next year’s X-Games schedule.

Travis Pastrana had quite the line-up scheduled for himself this past weekend, as he was expected to compete in the Moto X Best Trick competition at the X-Games in Los Angeles on Thursday and Friday night, fly to Indianapolis to take part in NASCAR’s Brickyard 400 on Saturday night (his first ever Nationwide Series race), before returning to L.A. on Sunday for the X-Games RallyCross event. However, the weekend dubbed as “Pastranathon” had to be rescheduled after Travis suffered a broken right ankle and foot while attempting a “720″ during Thursday night’s competition.

After failing at his first attempt, Pastrana hopped back on his bike and gave it another shot. Unfortunately for him and everyone else who was looking forward to watching “Pastranathon” unfold, his second attempt ended a lot worse than his first.

Travis was taken to a local hospital and had to pull out of Saturday’s Nationwide Series race, but he did manage to compete in Sunday’s RallyCross event in a full leg cast after learning how to drive his Subaru Impreza with hand controls that his team constructed in less than 12 hours.

Pastrana was sitting in third place with only a few laps left in Sunday’s race, but he crashed hard into the wall while trying to hold off two-time WRC champion Marcus Grönholm. Unfortunately, they do not give medals for courage at the X-Games, but one thing Pastrana did win was the respect of X-Games fans everywhere.

Here is a look at his nasty spill from Thursday night.

Hawk showed he still has it during a recent Tour in Sweden, as he completed the same trick that took him 11 attempts back in 1999 during the Summer X-Games.

The X-Games have been trying hard to gain popularity and attract greater audiences overseas, and Tony Hawk has been doing what he can to help them spread the love. For those not already aware, he’s awfully good at that.

Val Meyer was one of the unlucky officials to learn that lesson as he was hit by the snowmobile of Bobby LePage during the X-Games Snowmobile SnoCross Finals. The impact sent Meyer somersaulting into the air before crashing to the ground. He is believed to have suffered a right tibia and fibula fracture and a left tibia plateau fracture. The injuries will require him to undergo surgery.

The competitors at the X-Games tend to receive most of the accolades for their willingness to put their bodies on the line, but perhaps we should start showing some love for the race officials as well…That front flip was radical Meyer. Get well soon. And remember, X-Games chicks dig guys in casts.

Wow! This is impressive. Although it is probably one of the few times that being so successful will actually cause someone so much pain. After all, had he not been good enough to make it all the way down that tremendously long railing, he never would have had to deal with that “Do Not Enter” sign at the end of it. But I guess sometimes such sacrifices must be made in order to achieve greatness.

Here is your answer.

I think it is fair to say that scooters and rail slides just don’t mix.

They call them the “X-Games” for a reason, but I don’t think this is why.

Prior to the Moto Cross Speed & Style gold medal race, a few fans did their best to get the crowd going, and nothing gets the boys going quite like a pair of breasts on a beautiful female. Needless to say, this chick gave the guys exactly what they wanted, but it appears as though no one wanted it more than the young kid watching from the adjacent stairs.

As the girl in the blue shirt pumps the crowd up, the kid shows her the universal sign for “show your tits”, and as a symbol of her generosity she gives the people exactly what they want.

And if the child’s reaction wasn’t good enough, check out how his mother reacts to the sight of this female’s bare breasts. She must be so proud of her son.

What would the X-Games be without at least a few nasty spills. Although we would never wish such a fate upon anyone, it is simply one of the inevitable parts of being involved in extreme sports.

As Paris Rosen stepped up for his attempt during the motocross best-trick competition on Friday, something just didn’t seem to be right. Even the commentators made note of his apparent lack of confidence, and it appeared as though they were right. Seconds after making such a comment, Rosen headed towards the ramp and took off, but midway through his attempted front-flip, it was clear that disaster was about to strike.

Rosen hit the ground hard and lay motionless for several minutes before being taken to the hospital for x-rays. His manager, Lucas Mirtl, has since commented on Rosen’s health, indicating that he has been able to move his toes before saying, “I’m sure he’s going to be fine.” We can only hope that Mirtl’s medical evaluation is an accurate one.

Here is a look at the nasty crash. Don’t try this at home kids.
