Fantasy Football Starters And Bench Warmers: Week 2
NFL week 1 was very interesting, with top players going down for the season in Tom Brady and Shawne Merriman. Then there were teams like the Carolina Panthers and the Chicago Bears dominating their opponets as if they were favorites to win the Super Bowl.
For your fantasy football team this sunday this is who we would start and let warm the bench. Hopefully week 2 will be as eventful and dominating for your fantasy football team!
Jay Culter, QB, Denver Broncos,
Cutler will look to build on his solid start to the season by having another big against the Chargers. The loss of Shawne Merriman for the year will mean that Jay will have lots of time to look down field. The emergence of Eddie Royal and the return of big play receiver Brandon Marshall will make Cutler a great start this week.
Ryan Grant, RB, Green Bay Packers,
After a solid start to the season against the Vikings, Grant will look to have a huge game this week against the Lions. The Lions gave up over 300 total rushing yards against the Falcons and things won’t get any easier as the Packers roll into town. Grant should easily break the century mark and should find his way into the end zone.
Plaxico Burress, WR, New York Giants,
The Giants will travel to St. Louis this week to play Rams in what should be a very easy game for them. The Rams secondary gave up over 100 yards receiving to DeShaun Jackson, Hank Baskett, and Grew Lewis, which means that Burress in for huge day. He should easily get over 100 yards receiving and has the potential to have a multi TD game.
Chad Ocho Cinco, WR, Cincinnati Bengals,
The player formerly known as Chad Johnson will struggle against one of the most underrated defenses in the league. Linebacker Keith Bullock has promised to target Mr. Ocho Cinco in this game. He already has a league wide reputation of being soft, this week he will prove it.
David Garrard, QB, Jacksonville Jaguars,
Garrard threw two interceptions last week against the Titans and should struggle this week against a much improved Bill defense. The loss of two starting guards for the season will mean that former Jaguar Marcus Stroud will be spending a significant amount of time in the face of his old teammate.
Ahman Green, Steve Slaton, RBs, Houston Texans,
Add any other player to this list who might be running the ball for the Texans this week as they face the Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens killed the Bengals runners this past week and should be able to do the same to the Texans backs. Chris Perry and Kenny Watson combined for a grand total of 55 yards, which won’t cut it. There should be better options to start for your team this week.
Who would you start and keep on the bench?
