Craig Hartsburg Fired By The Ottawa Senators

Craig HartsburghTotal Pro Sports-  For anyone who has been following the NHL recently this news should come as no surprise.  The Ottawa Senators have relieved coach Craig Hartsburgh of his coaching duties.  Hartsburgh, will be replaced by Cory Clouston.  This is the teams fourth coaching change since the 2007 season.

So long Craig, we hardly knew you.

Ottawa has been one of the most disappointing teams in the NHL this year and their downward spiral seems to be continuing.  I don’t know if a coaching change is what was needed, but as we have seen in other sports, it is always the coach who gets his throat slashed first.

The Sens need a complete overhaul of their roster if they want to bring their team back to respectability.  They should look at possibly moving Jason Spezza and try to get some help on the blue line.  The other player who might be on his way out, is longtime captain Daniel Alfredsson, who seems to have worn out his welcome.  There is no doubt that Ottawa will be a major player on deadline day this year.

At least the Toronto Maple Leafs no longer have the title of worst team in the province of Ontario.
