Richard Zednik Goal Of The Year Against Islanders
Total Pro Sports – Last night the New York Islanders lost their 30th game of the season to the Florida Panthers 3-2. With only 37 points thus far and holding down the last place over all spot in the NHL, the Islanders are on the right track to draft touted youngster John Tavares.
One highlight did come from this game which probably had about 8 fans in attendance. The Florida Panthers forward Richard Zednik (If you forgot who Richard Zednik is he is the one who had his neck sliced with a skate during a game last year. Amazing that he is back from an injury that horrifying.) carried the puck in from center, flipped the puck over the sliding Islanders defenceman and then put the puck past goaltender Joey MacDonald.
What is being called the goal of the year for the 2009 hockey season, we most definitely have to agree.
If you thought Richard Zednik’s goal was amazing then we think you should watch Drew Stafford’s goal on Wednesday night against the Toronto Maple Leafs. We were in awe after watching this goal on the highlights and definitely think it can compete as goal of the year with Zednik’s goal.
We’ll leave you to judge which you think is the goal of the year so far in the 2009 NHL season.
