mark-recchi-bruinsTotal Pro Sports – An Eastern Conference battle took place on Thursday Night featuring the Montreal Canadiens in Boston to take on the Bruins.  The game was an exciting one that went back in-forth but was won by the Boston Bruins in overtime 5-4.

The player of the game was none other then the ageless one Mark Recchi who scored 2 goals and 2 assists for 4 total points in the win. Thus, making him The Stat Line Of The Night” for Thursday April 9th, 2009. Recchi who turned 41 in February is having a pretty decent season, scoring 55 total points with the this year.

Minutes after Montreal clinched a playoff spot by forcing overtime, Mark Recchi scored his second goal of the game to give the Boston Bruins a 5-4 victory over the Canadiens on Thursday.

Boston has secured the top seed in the East, and will face the Canadiens or Rangers in the first round. The Bruins finished first in 2001-02, but were eliminated in six games by eighth-seeded Montreal.

Look for the veteran leadership of Mark Recchi to lead the Boston Bruins deep into the playoffs this year.
