Alex Ovechkin Spies On The New York Rangers

ovechkin-spies-from-the-benchTotal Pro Sports – Washington Capitals star, Alex Ovechkin was spotted on the visitors bench this morning at Madison Square Gardens before the New York Rangers took the ice for their practice.

Ovechkin sat on the bench until the Rangers approached him and asked him to leave.  So why was the Russian star on the bench????

“Just to [tick] Tortorella off,” Ovechkin said of Rangers head coach John Tortorella.

And why did he think the Rangers told him he couldn’t stay and watch?

“Because they’re afraid of me,” he said with a smile and left the bench shaking his head in disgust.

But John “Torts” Tortorella told ESPN which was reported by the New York Post that he didn’t even see Ovechkin on the bench and didn’t care to much about him.

“Who? Oh, god, this is the first I’ve heard of it,” Tortorella said. “Ask me a question about the game, not that [expletive].”

This is just another situation of Alex Ovechkin being himself, trying to get into the mind of the other team.  But maybe next time he should take some lessons from Russian spies before he tries to watch another team without getting noticed.
