The Stat Line Of The Night – 04/30/09 – Marcin Gortat
Total Pro Sports – The Orlando Magic who were without All Star Center Dwight Howard who took on the Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday night in Game 6 of the NBA playoffs. The Magic showed no signs of missing Howard as they won the series and blew out the Sixers 114-89.
The player of the game was Dwight Howard’s replacement, power forward Marcin Gortat. Gortat had an outstanding game taking Howards spot, helping the Magic by adding 11 points, 15 rebounds and 2 assists in the win. Thus making him “The Stat Line Of The Night” for Thursday April 30th, 2009.
For a game at least, the Magic didn’t need their Superman.
“They’re actually better without Dwight Howard,” Sixers guard Andre Miller said. “One of their players told me that they were better without Dwight Howard. They said the ball moves quicker. They’re not standing around a lot.”
It’s scary to see what the Orlando Magic can still do without “Superman” on the court. So don’t be shocked if they win the East and make it to the NBA finals.
