The Stat Line Of The Night – 05/04/09 – Zack Greinke

Zack GreinkeTotal Pro Sports –  The  Kansas City Royals took on the division rivals Chicago White Sox at home on Monday night.  Looking for their third straight win and improving on their American League Central best record, the Royals didn’t disappoint. They beat the White Sox 3-0.

The player of the game was starting pitcher Zack Greinke of the Kansas City Royals who leads the majors with his 6th win of the season.  Greinke pitched an amazing complete game on Monday, allowing only 6 hits, striking out 10 and allowing o runs in the shutout win.  Ultimately making him “The Stat Line Of The Night” for Monday May 4th, 2009.

“The right-hander baffled the White Sox all night, working inside and out, up and down, slow and fast. Greinke (6-0) didn’t walk a batter, dropped his ERA to 0.40 and pushed his majors-leading strikeout total to 54 during his third complete game of the season.”

If  Zack Greinke can continue on this pace he can easily finish with 20 plus wins and most likely a guaranteed American League Cy Young Award.
