John Calipari Snags PG Prospect Eric Bledsoe From Former Team
Total Pro Sports – It is recruiting time in the NCAA basketball season, and that means several thousand young men are faced with the difficult choice of who to sign with. For Eric Bledsoe, the number 3 rated point guard according to Rivals.com, the decision was between John Calipari’s Kentucky Wildcats, and his former team, the Memphis Tigers.
After thinking it over, Bledsoe is expected to announce that he has decided to sign with the Wildcats. This may come as a bit of a surprise as Kentucky may also sign top point guard prospect John Wall, leaving the two to battle it out for the position. When asked about the decision making process, Bledsoe had the following to say:
“You’ve got coaches calling you every day, new coaches coming. I’m kind of glad it’s over with. When I came (to Memphis last week for a visit), they treated me like I was O.J. Mayo. I thought I was going to come in and check in the hotel, but there were cameras everywhere.” (commercialappeal)
So after doing so much for the University of Memphis on the court and being labeled as a hero of the program, John Calipari has taken the first step towards becoming public enemy number one. How Memphis will rebound from this upsetting news is anyone’s guess, but it looks like the University of Kentucky’s Wildcats are ready to make themselves heard again in the NCAA Tournament.
