The Stat Line Of The Night – 05/13/09 – Sidney Crosby

Sidney CrosbyTotal Pro Sports – It was the NHL series that fans around the world dreamed of.  A Stanley Cup  game 7 playoff match up between 2 of the worlds greatest hockey players; Sidney Crosby and Alex Ovechkin.  The only problem one team decided to show up for the game, as the Pittsburgh Penguins won the game easily 6-2.

The player of the game was none other then superstar Sidney Crosby who lead his Penguins with 2 goals and 1 assist for 3 points in the big win over the Caps.  Thus, making him The Stat Line Of The Night” for Wednesday May 13th, 2009.

“I just said, ‘Great series.’ There was a lot of eyes on the series,” Crosby said. “It was a battle for both teams. Individually, we both wanted to make sure we did a great job.”

And what did Ovechkin tell Crosby, his predecessor as league MVP?

“I just wished him good luck,” Ovechkin said, “and told him to win the Stanley Cup.”

The Pittsburgh Penguins will now move onto the Eastern Conference Finals and look for the chance to move onto the Stanley Cup Finals for the second straight year.
