Texas Rangers Pull Off Triple Play vs Tigers [Video]
Total Pro Sports – Most pitchers will tell you that there is no better way to get out of a jam than the always welcome double play. That is because they don’t see the ever elusive triple play often enough. Well it came at the perfect time for the Texas Rangers and pitcher Matt Harrison.
With Detroit up 1-0 in the bottom of the fourth, no outs and runners on 1st and 2nd, Gerald Laird lined one up the middle and into the glove of Rangers second baseman Ian Kinsler for the first out. He tossed it to 2nd base where shortstop Elvis Andrus would get the force at second, then tag the Tigers runner caught between 2nd and 1st. The sad part is Kinsler could have likely done this all unassisted, but was kind enough to include Andrus.
So was there anything that didn’t go right for the Rangers? How about the final score, which was 5-3 in favor of the Tigers. Talk about putting the great play to waste.
Here it is for your enjoyment in case you missed it.
