The Stat Line Of The Night – 06/03/09 – Jeff Niemann

Jeff NiemannTotal Pro Sports – Maybe this is the turn around game for the World Series finalists Tampa Bay Rays.  They are now one game below .500 after handing a devastating 9-0 loss to the lowly Kansas City Royals.   You would think that with the season that the Rays had last year they would be better then their 27-28 record.

The player of the game was starting pitcher for the Tampa Rays Jeff Niemann.  This 26 year old pitched an absolute 9 inning, 2 hit, 1 walk, 9 strike out shutout gem for the win.  Thus making him “The Stat Line Of The Night” for Wednesday June 3st, 2009.

“I’ve always felt that I can do that,” Niemann said. “To come out here and do it, it was awesome. You get that confidence boost that you really can do it.”

This may just be the game that turns the Rays around, Well just have to wait and see.
