Windsor Spitfires Richard Panik Scores Great Through-The-Legs Goal
Total Pro Sports – The exhibition action has just begun in the OHL, but it is never too early for some highlight reel goals. Here to provide us with our first is Richard Panik, the Slovakian winger of the Windsor Spitfires.
The play occurred last week when the Spits took on the Sarnia Sting in a preseason game. With Windsor on the powerplay, Panik was positioned at the off-post. After a point shot missed on the short side, the rebound came off the end-boards and right to Panik, who slipped the puck and his stick between his legs and recorded the goal.Panik is a 2009 second-round pick (52 overall) of the Tamp Bay Lightning, but he has been making a name for himself with Windsor before joining the Lightning for rookie camp in Brandon, Florida. In only two games, he recorded three goals and eight points for the defending OHL and CHL Memorial Cup Champions.
If Panik and the Spits can kick off the 2009-10 season where they left off, you can expect to see the people of Windsor dancing topless through the streets once again in May.
Can this be a preview of things to come for the Spits?
