The Stat Line of the Night – 10/14/09 – Blake Griffin

Blake GriffinTotal Pro Sports – It may be a preseason game, but it’s always good to see a rookie take over and dominate. That happened last night as #1 overall pick Blake Griffin took it to Tim Duncan and the Spurs.

Griffin was solid across the board, filling up the stat sheet. He hit 10 of 14 shots, 3 of 4 free throws and ended up with 23 points.  That was good enough to lead all scorers and good enough for “The Stat Line Of The Night” for Wednesday, October 14th, 2009.

Griffin added 7 boards, a steal and an assist in an action-packed 29 minutes of playing time. He scored 10 points in the first quarter and then 13 more in the third. Here’s the thing: he sat out the 2nd quarter. So he could have easily topped 30 points for the night.

The Clippers are looking good in the preseason with a record of 3-1. Griffin is looking great and worthy of that #1 pick — for now. He does play on the Clippers afer all. And we know what they can do to high draft picks.
