Fantasy Football: TPS Monday Afternoon Quarterback (Week 7)
Total Pro Sports – Another week in the NFL. Another team falls from the ranks of the undefeated, but it should have been two. At least that is what they will be saying in Miami. After the Vikings lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers in a thriller at Heinz Field, it looked as though the same would happen to the New Orleans Saints later on in the afternoon when they visited Land Shark Stadium, home of this year’s Super Bowl. It was as if they wanted to send a message stating “see you in February” to those in attendance. The Saints allowed the Dolphins to take a 24-3 lead late in the second quarter before mounting the unbelievable comeback on route to a 46-34 victory. So now Drew Brees and company join the Colts and Broncos as the league’s only undefeated teams, while the Bucs, Rams and Titans remain winless. We have yet to reach the midway point of the season, but it is beginning to become more and more clear just who will be competing for the Vince Lombardi trophy in the final game, and who will be battling for the likes of Colt McCoy, Tim Tebow, Sam Bradford, and Jimmy Clausen at next year’s NFL draft.
Here is a look at what happened over the weekend in this edition of the TPS Monday Afternoon Quarterback. Green Bay 31 at Cleveland 3 – Can someone please get the Browns the number for Jeff Garcia!
San Francisco 21 at Houston 24 – They may have lost, but the 49ers should be happy with the performance of former #1 pick Alex Smith.
San Diego 37 at Kansas City 7 – The Chiefs lost the game and it may not be long before they lose Larry Johnson. Good riddance to bad running backs.
Indianapolis 42 at St. Louis 6 – You didn’t think Indy’s undefeated run or the Rams’ winless streak would end here, did you?
New England 35 at Tampa Bay 7 – How about next year we give the English people a real game?
Minnesota 17 at Pittsburgh 27 – The biggest offensive threat in this one was the Steelers’ defense.
Buffalo 20 at Carolina 9 – Will this finally be the game that gets Delhomme’s ass glued to the bench?
New York Jets 38 at Oakland 0 – After winning last week, don’t expect another victory for the Raiders for a while. Sanchez will eat to that.
Chicago 10 at Cincinnati 45 – Revenge was sweet for Cedric Benson.
Atlanta 21 at Dallas 37 – Where in the world did Miles Austin come from?
New Orleans 46 at Miami 34 -Can the Saints come back while down? You bet they can!
Arizona 24 at New York Giants 17 – It is difficult to tell which Arizona team will show up. Last night it was the same team that made it to the Super Bowl.
