The Stat Line of the Night – 11/18/09 – Antawn Jamison
When you think about the Washington Wizards, two things probably pop in your mind: Gilbert Arenas and bad basketball. Last night Arenas actually contributed some of his own bad basketball, hitting just 6 of 22 shots and just 1 three-pointer in 8 attempts. Lucky for him Antawn Jamison was ready to rock.
Jamison more than picked up the scoring slack. But here’s the rub: Jamison missed the preseason and the first 9 games of the regular season. So what does he do in his first game of the year? Drops in 31 points on LeBron and the Cavs, adds in 10 boards, 2 assists and a steal, and leads the Wizards to a 108-91 victory in the nation’s capital.
The Wiz have been beset by injuries and the return of Jamison is huge for them. His dominant performance helped end the Wizards 6-game losing streak and moved them to a record of 4-7. Not only did they end their skid, but the Cavs had won 5 straight heading into the game.
So for his awesome season debut and leading the Wizards to victory, Antawn Jamison has The Stat Line of the Night for 11/18/09.
