The Stat Line of the Night – 12/02/09 – Atlanta Hawks
Usually in this spot you’ll read of one player’s great performance. But last night the Atlanta Hawks so thoroughly dominated the Raptors that we had to include the whole team.
The Hawks poured it on to win 146-115. It’s the most points they’ve scored in one game since 1993. Al Horford led all scorers with 24 points on 10-12 shooting. Joe Johnson had 11 assists. Josh Smith had 16 points and 4 blocked shots. Aging veteran Joe Smith played just 18 minutes but had 12 points.
The Hawks moved to 13-5 on the year and are now 8-1 at home. Everyone talks about Cleveland, Orlando and Boston. But the Hawks sit right there in the 4-seed and obviously have the firepower. Might they upset one of the big three come playoff time? We’ll see. But for now the Atlanta Hawks earn The Stat Line of the Night for 12/02/09.
