The Stat Line of the Night – 12/13/09 – Brandon Marshall

Brandon MarshallThe Denver Broncos were in Indianapolis to take on the Colts on Sunday and even though the Colts won the game 28-16 it was a record setting affair for the Broncos wide receiver Brandon Marshall.

Marshall lit the field on fire, breaking the single season game receptions with 21 which was once held by Terrell Owens, along with 200 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns in the loss.  Making him “The Stat Line Of The Night” for Sunday December 13th, 2009.

“I went to my receiving coach [Adam Gase] before the game and I told him, ‘I think this is going to be the best game I’ve ever played.’ Just because of the environment, the situation of playing the Colts,” Marshall said. “I believe big players step up in big games, and this was a big game for us.” [ESPN]

Brandon Marshall is also the only wide receiver in history to have more than 18 receptions in a game twice.  If Marshall can stay out of trouble and focus on the game of football he definitely be a top 3 receiver in the NFL but for now he will remain as that receiver with so much potential.
